Today’s Devotional Scripture: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.- Ephesians 2:3-7 KJV

Audio Version Of This Devotional: Come Alive Audio
It's time to get up. The whole season has shifted. Not only are we physically in the fall, or in some cases the autumn, but we're also in a season of acceleration of God's grace and glory. The joy is coming back. The creativity is coming back. The fire is coming back. The weighted glory of God is coming back now.
There is a shift that has been released in the atmosphere for the people of God. In this scripture, we see that although in the past, those who the speaker is speaking to, have indeed had conversations with the lust of the flesh, did what they wanted with their bodies, did what they wanted in their minds, and were like the children of wrath, like the outsiders, those who were not in the body of Christ. But God, who is rich in mercy for his great love, He loved us and quickened us together with Christ Jesus.
God has quickened us together. To be quickened is to be made alive. To be quickened is to be set ablaze by the Holy Ghost and the power of God, because it's by grace that we have been saved, not of our own strength and power. This scripture does a beautiful job of spelling out how we're to walk with God as believers. Although we all have a past. Yes, we all have a history. Some of it is not something we can be proud of, but in this moment, it is by grace that we are saved.
That out of his great love, he loved us, actively loved us, and raised us up together to sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. To sit in places of peace and joy to receive the word. As you read through the entire scripture of Ephesians Chapter 2, you see a greater demonstration of us walking with God. Walking with him and receiving with him, that we receive the grace of God.
This scripture very much talks about us receiving the grace, operating in the grace, and letting go of every old thing while being made alive in Christ Jesus. That is the entire premise here. This morning, as you prepare to go out and tackle different tasks on your to-do list and face the day with courage, remember that the Lord your God is mighty to save and mighty to deliver. Remember that out of His great love for us, he has already paid the cost.
So to come alive in him, to come alive with power, is to trust in him completely, to be quickened with him in the Holy Spirit, and to trust in him completely (said a second time for emphasis). Not that you're going to save yourself. Not that you can't save yourself. But when we're walking with God:
it is God who operates as our divine covering.
It is God who operates as our savior.
It is God who makes us a witness.
It is God who graces us to advance.
It is the will of the Father that we be seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. It is the will of God that we would know that we are raised up together with Him in the name of Jesus. The grace of God is mighty. It is sustaining. It is peace to weary bones. In this season, commit to getting in his presence. Run into his presence. Don't fight the desire to pray. Don't overthink the desire to fast.
Walk with God. Trust with him. Listen to His voice. Allow Him to guide your every step. As you begin to walk out this season, remember the Lord your God, for it is he that has given you the ability to obtain well. That's Deuteronomy 8.18.
18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
The kindness of God is here for us now. For us to get up again. For us to walk out the boldness of God with power again. For us to say yes to the call again, for us to be covered in His word, and seeing the power of God at work in our finances, in our homes, in our children, and in our relationships again. Come alive. Be quickened. Be restored with the power of Jesus Christ.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for your great love for us, O God. I thank you, O God, that while we were yet sinners, O God, you loved us. Thank you, God, for the breaking, God. Thank you, O God, that we have been reconciled back to you in the name of Jesus, that you are the vine and we are the branches, and that apart from you, God, we can do nothing.
I thank you right now for the outpouring of your spirit. I thank you, O God, for the Holy Spirit that is at work within us to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to that Holy Spirit power at work within us. I thank you, God, for the grace and for the glory, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
I thank you, O God, for the blood that was shed, that we can live and come alive again, that we are not as those who walk around doing what they want, operating in their flesh, operating in their fleshly desires and doing whatever their mind says to do. No. I thank you, God, that we can just walk with you knowing that you are the Lord, our God, and that is you who gives us instruction.
It is you who makes a way out of no way, that we can turn away from our wicked ways and turn to you and say, “Yes!”. Lord, that we can touch and agree in the name of Jesus and say, “Yes, Lord”. I pray for the mighty woman of God who is listening now that she is covered in the name of Jesus.
Lord, I thank you that there'd be an outpouring of your spirit upon the woman of God. I thank you for the weighted glory of God. I thank you, O God, that you are a strong tower and that the righteous can run into you and they are safe. I thank you that the mighty woman of God is coming alive.
Let her be empowered with the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord God, nothing else can do it. Only you, God, can do it. There is no one beside you, Lord God. You are the only wise God now and forevermore. I thank you for the outpouring of your spirit. I thank you for you are Jehovah Jireh. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
