Hey Woman of God!
This is the Day 1 Recap of the 90-minute Power of Prayer series we are doing with paid subscribers. We go live with them at 11 am daily, Monday - Friday, for biblical teaching, prayer, and empowerment.
I was led to do a separate FREE daily recap for everyone in the community, as I am a firm believer that prayer is for the nations, and the revelations from prayer should not be commoditized in any way (not to be confused with books, created works, and products/services, which are things we create to sell). This recap covers what may be the heaviest battle for so many of us today:
The Spirit of Almost
Pisgah in scripture is the mountain that God advised Moses to ascend in Deuteronomy 3:27:
24 O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
25 I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.
26 But the Lord was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
27 Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see. - Deuteronomy 3:24-28 KJV
This mountain makes an appearance again in Numbers 23 when King Balak hires the seer Balaam out of the mountains to curse the children of Israel. This, of course, did not work s nothing can curse what God has blessed.
13 And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
14 And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.n - Numbers 23:13-14 KJV
Pisgah is a murderous spirit that desires to abort your breakthrough in its infancy or in the process of attainment.
Here are some signs that you are contending with this spirit
1. The “Almost There” Syndrome
Failed at the Threshold: You experience repeated, consistent, last-minute disappointments when success is in sight, such as a job offer falling through at the final stage.
Unfinished Projects: You frequently start projects, businesses, or relationships with great promise but are unable to finalize or enjoy them.
Delayed Breakthroughs: A pattern of intense effort or prayer that leads to seeing the promise, but never actually possessing it.
2. Specific Patterns of Disappointment
The “Near-Marriage” Breakdown: Relationships often end abruptly just before a proposal or wedding.
Financial/Career Collapse: Business deals, promotions, or job interviews fall apart at the very last moment.
Sudden Miscarriage of Miracles: Receiving promising news, such as a pregnancy or a contract, only to have it fail just before the expected delivery or fruition.
3. Spiritual and Behavioral Signs
Specific Negative Dreams: Repeatedly dreaming of losing items, picking up snails (interpreted as slowness), having sex in a dream (interpreted as loss of virtue/blessing), or being pursued by masquerades.
Unnecessary Anger/Disobedience: A tendency to lose one’s temper, or fall into disobedience to God’s instructions, precisely when a major breakthrough is expected, similar to Moses at Meribah.
Generational Patterns: Recognizing that parents or siblings also suffered from chronic, unfulfilled potential or last-minute failures.
4. Overcoming the Spirit of Pisgah
Deliverance ministries suggest that this spirit can be broken through:
Repentance: Addressing personal disobedience or unhealed wounds that may be allowing the limitation.
Aggressive Prayer: Engaging in targeted, persistent prayer against the “power of the edge of the breakthrough”.
Spiritual Authority: Using “It is written” to declare and enforce victory over the limitation.
