We live in a generation that feels deeply that we can redefine who God is. We love to redefine God, redefine who he was for the Israelites of old, and redefine his social beliefs. Constantly reinterpreting the scripture to attempt to justify our limited beliefs of who God is, often in alignment with political goals and agendas. Not to mention that we love to soften the God who created the universe and everything in it.
But God is God all by himself.
Through every word in the scripture, the Lord is present, and he is real. Through the Old Testament and the New, God is still God throughout the scripture. God doesn’t change, and in essence, out of his great love, sends Jesus, so that fallen man can be reconciled back to our Father. There is nothing about God that changes.
There is nothing about His nature that changed from then to now. We can truly attempt to redefine who He was, and we can attempt to redefine His beliefs according to our agendas, but the truth will prevail. Our God is able to restore unto himself the truth of who he is in our lives as you walk with God in your day-to-day life. Remember that God is faithful.
He’s faithful to be with us. He’s faithful to never leave us nor forsake us. He is faithful to be there when we call. Jeremiah 33:3 tells us that, that we can call on him and that He answers. We serve the living God, the creator of the universe and everything in it.
When we look at our lives, and we look at what we need and how we can move with God, it’s a simple matter of a conversation. A moment to rest before Him. Sitting in His presence. Meditating on His word, understanding the scripture, leaning into the word, praying into the word, fasting against all harm, danger, against every principality and dark force, and not being moved by any vain doctrine.
