Audio Version Of This Devotional: Prayer: The Solid Rock Audio
Everything you need is right where you are, but many times it requires an elevated thought process. Something like a higher position. The scripture says that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV
Higher are His ways and our thoughts than the heavens above the earth. That really makes it clear that the way that we think and process is always going to be to the point of where we are, but that God sees the end of a thing. He sees the end from the beginning. He knows very well what it is that He requires from us.
He knows the plans and the thoughts that He thinks towards us to give us a future and a hope. So in this scripture and Psalm 121, when it says, look to the hills, the psalmist is committing to getting above everything in this area, on this level, and looking up onto the hills. Looking for His help because His help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
We see that so clearly spelled out here, and of course, expounded upon in the fullness of Psalm 121. We see where the psalmist has made it clear that there is more in store. The psalmist has made it clear that he's looking to Jesus. He's looking to the Lord our God, and He's mighty to deliver and mighty to set free. He knows your end from your beginning.
Because of this, looking to the hills may be the only solution we have in some situations. In this moment right now, looking to the hills may be the difference between you remaining in the place of feeling disconnected and stagnant to being on fire and lit up again for your purpose. Looking to the hills is a commitment to lift up your head, to look for solutions, and to look for the Lord.
You know how to pray. We know everyone is not as advanced, but in your prayers, remember that we are putting our requests before the Lord. We're seeking His face. We're thanking Him for who He is, so that we can truly walk out the scripture that says, be careful for nothing, but in all things, your prayer and supplication, make your requests known before the Lord.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-8 KJV
No worry. Be careful for nothing in all things. As we come to the end of the devotional, remember that those hills in your life may require you to step outside of the foray. Step outside of the noise, as it instructs us in Psalm 46, verse 8-10 in the Message Version.
Attention, all! See the marvels of God!
He plants flowers and trees all over the earth,
Bans war from pole to pole,
breaks all the weapons across his knee.
“Step out of the traffic! Take a long,
loving look at me, your High God,
above politics, above everything.” - Psalm 46:10 MSG
It says to separate oneself from the noise and to rise above.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you, Father, in the name of Jesus, as the mighty woman of God is looking and as she's seeking your face, I'm praying, O God, for divine revelation to come forth over her, God. I'm praying that as she walks through this devotional and she does all that you're instructing her to do by the Spirit, that there be a fresh release, God, of her assignment.
A fresh release, God, of her voice and authority. A fresh release, God, and a restoration, God, of all that you have placed inside her. I thank you, Lord, for the mighty woman of God saying yes to listening to this devotional, to walking through it step-by-step. Lord, I thank you for the grace and the glory over her. I thank you for her family. Lord, you are a keeper.
So, Lord God, we look up to you. We look to you for solutions, God. Your ways are higher than our ways. Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. I thank you, Lord, for this grace, for this glory, and for this shift. I thank you, O God, for the manifested power of the glory of God in every situation that pertains to her. I thank you, God, in her job.
I thank you, God, for favor that is going to come upon her swiftly, O God, because she's looking to you. She's tuning into you. She's making time for you. She's making time for prayer. So, Lord, I thank you in the name of Jesus that as she lifts up her hands and as she looks for you, O God, that she will see what she is looking for, that she's going to find what it is that she's seeking.
In Matthew 7, 7, you give us such a beautiful description of prayer, and it says to seek, and a door will be opened to you. Seek, and you're going to find. Seek, and there may be a greater development in the relationship, but first and foremost, you must go higher.
You must look to the hills. And so, Lord, I thank you that this mighty woman of God is looking. She's looking with great expectation, and she's trusting in you, God. I thank you for her life. I thank you for that revelation. I thank you for her joy being restored. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
