30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. - Mark 10:29-30 KJV

Often, we are encouraged to make sacrifices for our families, for our friends, for our children to be present, be available, and to be exactly what they need. Here, we have the mighty woman of God who has shared this devotional, which I’m going to read, that blesses us to see this a little differently.
How often are we encouraged to sacrifice for His sake, for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? How often are we encouraged to open our hearts, to allow others to help, to step up, and to be there even for a moment in our lives? Here are the words of our devotional writer today:
A real-time revelation of Mark 10:29:
How God handled the home I was “brave” enough to leave for fifteen minutes.
The silence on the line was deafening.
I was standing in a splattered mess of white milk on my dark wood floors. My son was soaked in his clean school uniform, mid-meltdown in his high chair. And through my phone, the prayer line facilitator’s voice echoed: “Marshay, are you ready to lead us in prayer?”
I had 30 seconds to choose: Fix the mess or follow the Call?
Women of God: It’s never just “bad timing.”
Have you noticed that the moment you prepare your heart for Kingdom work—whether it’s leading a prayer line, studying the Word, or simply choosing peace—the enemy starts working overtime?
The enemy doesn’t attack when you’re idle. He attacks when you’re assigned.
That morning, I had a specific assignment to intercede on a prayer line. I was the prayer warrior of the day. And right on cue, the “storm” hit. It wasn’t just a toddler meltdown; it was a strategic distraction.
A bowl of cereal splattered on dark wood, a ruined school uniform, and a 30-second silence on a prayer line where my name was being called—all designed to make me feel like a failure before I even opened my mouth to pray.
The enemy’s strategy was clear: he wanted me to hit “leave” on that call, because he knows that a mother who prays is a threat to his territory. He wanted me to scramble for an excuse or frantically ask someone else to step in because my emotions were as chaotic as my kitchen.
The whisper was relentless: “How can you pray for anyone when your home is in chaos? You’re too disqualified by this mess to lead anyone into His presence.”
He uses the “spilled milk” of our lives as a weapon of distraction, hoping we’ll believe that our physical chaos disqualifies our spiritual assignment.
But, I refused to fail this assignment. I ran outside onto the porch leaving a screaming toddler and spilled milk, hit unmute, and prayed through the trembling. I chose to “leave” my family to serve the Kingdom.
In that moment, Mark 10:29 hit differently: “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much...”
Usually, we think of “leaving children” as a mission trip to another country. But that morning, “leaving my child” meant walking past the mess and the meltdown, stepping out onto the porch, and closing the door so I could lift my voice in prayer.
The Miracle:
When I walked back in fifteen minutes later, the storm had already been calmed. My daughter had already stepped in, comforted her brother, and handled the crisis before I even re-entered the room.
Ladies: The enemy isn’t just trying to make a mess; he is trying to keep you from saying “Yes” to Kingdom business. The enemy is absolutely terrified of a woman who knows how to leave.
When we “leave” our fields, our homes, or even our children for the sake of the Gospel (Mark 10:29), we aren’t abandoning them—we are placing them in the hands of the One who can parent them better than we ever could.
I chose the higher call of intercession. I left a home in chaos, and I walked back into a hundredfold peace, and so much more. God handled my home so I could handle His business.
If the enemy is working overtime to stop you today, it’s because he’s terrified of what your “Yes” will do to his kingdom. Leave it all anyway.
A Warfare Prayer for the Woman Struggling to “Leave It All”
Father, I thank You for the assignment You have placed on my life. I recognize the weight of the call and the reality of the cost. I silence the voice of the enemy that tells me I am a “bad” mom, daughter, sister or friend for stepping away to serve You. I break the power of the lie that says I am disqualified by the “spilled milk” in my life. You do not look for a perfect vessel; You look for a surrendered heart. Lord, I put on the Full Armor of God. I take the Shield of Faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy. I take the Sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, and I declare Mark 10:29 over my household: that as I “leave” it all to follow You, You are already preparing a hundredfold reward of blessing for me. In The Name Above Every Name, Jesus Christ, we pray, AMEN!
And for Your Daughters who are Mothers:
We hand You the reins of our homes. We trust You to “parent” our children while we are handling Your business. We thank You for raising up help, for calming the storms we cannot reach, and for turning our “Yes” into a weapon of victory for our entire lineage. We will not hang up. We will not back down. We will not let the enemy’s overtime strategy stop our momentum. In the mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen. Thank God for Marshay. Thank God for this message of trusting God in the midst of leaning in when the enemy and the distractions in our lives want us to lean out, they want us to go back into the place that society says we belong to. I give God the glory. For Marshay’s devotional, it was not changed.
It was. It was kept for this purpose that you could read through it exactly as she wrote it and receive exactly what was on it the moment you read it. I pray that the blessings of God would reveal to you what your purpose is, what your assignment is, and what the enemy has desperately tried to keep you from, because it’s. It’s time to walk for His sake. Amen.

An on time word. But today I have to work with the baby in one hand and the bible in the other. Because sometimes God doesn’t call us to leave the mess but to enter into His presence in the midst of it.
