Today’s Devotional Scripture:
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. - Philippians 1:6-7

Audio Version Of This Devotional: Fight To The Finish Audio
To be a partaker in the grace means to benefit from the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. In this scripture we see that the apostle is noting that God is going to finish the work no matter what is happening. In this case, when we think about the bonds, we think about what the imprisonment that the apostle has dealt with and is dealing with. And as he's writing these letters from a not so good place, we can consider that the strength of what is on him is because he endured.
The grace that is on him is because he has walked the good walk and has defended, to stand up, for the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a grace that comes with that and that grace is what enables us to finish the race. To know that it's not given to the swift and the battle to the strong, but to the one that has the endurance and the one that stays until the very end. We will see an expected end.
This morning as you prepare your day, as you walk forth in your day, as this word is now wherever you are in your day, as this word is now going forth, be encouraged that you have been graced for the finished work because of what you have endured. So often we wish it would be easy instead of thanking God for developing us to be stronger in the midst of trials and circumstances. In this season, finishing the race, it's all about understanding that it's not about how fast you are or how strong you are because you have not always been strong.
It's about who God is in your life and how you trust him. It's about trusting in His promises. It's about receiving that he is God. It's about knowing that He has set you on solid ground and walking forth in this thing that there may be a peace that every trial and fiery circumstance would break and that the way would be made and paved by his spirit.
The grace of God is the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit that walks with you, who shows you which way to go, and empowers you to finish the journey. It's waiting. The Holy Spirit is waiting. The Holy Spirit is waiting on you to finish what it is you've been advised to finish, to come into agreement with the word of the Lord, because the Lord is a finisher. This is what it says here in verse six. It says,
Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it into the day of Jesus Christ.”
God does not leave things unfinished. He's a God who finishes what he starts. He's a God who shifts. He moves, he builds, he empowers according to his divine will and purpose. He gives us dispensations of the Holy Spirit that we may walk in and be able to function in our assignment and the body of Christ. Each one has an assignment, all the different pieces working together. This is the power of the Holy Ghost in that we don't all look the same. We don't all have the same function and what we've been called to look and do and be allows us to walk in the Holy Ghost, to walk in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, to move when God says move, to flow when God says flow, and to trust when God says that he is with us and that he is with us wherever we go, that he would not leave us nor forsake us.
God is faithful and he's able to do what he said he would do. Each and everything that you're facing right now, God knows. He's no stranger to what you've dealt with. He's no stranger to what you're walking through right now. Whatever your bonds may be, maybe it's bonds because you've been a preacher of the gospel in this in a time in our history when the gospel wasn't welcome and that preaching the gospel could get you locked up, right? Maybe it's the bonds of your financial straits in this season.
Maybe it's the bonds of lack and not knowing what to do. Maybe it's the bonds of low self-esteem and not really knowing what you're worth. Whatever the bonds may be, these bonds cannot stop the grace of God on your lives. They break. The bonds break under the weight of the anointing of God, under the weight of the favor of God, under the weight of his grace, every chain has to break.
That is where you are right now. We're under the chain-breaking anointing of the Holy God who reigns over the heavens and all of the earth. He is able to do what he said he would do. He's able to empower you for the finished work of the Lord, to see the end of a thing, to be the manifestation that the entire creature awaits. It says in Romans 8:19, that the creature awaits an earning expectation for the manifestation of the sons of God.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. - Romans 8:19 KJV
You are the sons and the daughters. We are of God. We're the sons. Son meaning, not men, but being humanity. We are the sons of God. We are they that have waited. We are they that have fasted. We are they that believe in the power of prayer. We are they. God is able to do what he said he would do. He's able to keep you from falling. He's able to hold you up with his mighty right hand.
He will not fail you. He is a keeper. The Lord will finish what he started. Now will you receive it? Will you receive that the Lord our God is able to do what he said he would do? Will you come into divine agreement with His word and with his will over your life? Will you fight to see the finish line in this season?
