Most of our lives, we are told that we should have goals: the five-year goals, the married by 30 goals, the children by 35 goals. We’re given these instructions, we’re given these societal expectations, and we’re given these deadlines, but none of that is the will of God.
When God wants to order your steps, when God wants to guide you along the journey, He will do it by grace, by you receiving that He is God, and by you walking with Him fully. Even when you feel that maybe you went off the beaten path for a season, or for a few seasons, God is still God in your life. He never leaves you, never forsakes you.
So when we see the societal deadlines, and we see these limitations based on dates, five-year plans, goals, and expected ends, remember that God knows the plans. He knows where He’s guiding you. He knows where He’s taking you.
He is ordering your steps.
The Bible tells us that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. It means that we have all that we need when we walk with Him. We have divine instruction, we have revelation, we have peace that surpasses all understanding. We have God, and with Him, we have more than enough. The years that you’ve been waiting, the delays, and the changes in the timeline, some of these are divine.
Some of these were allowed by God to birth something in you, to birth the reality of your God-given identity, to birth God-given assignments, to orchestrate your steps, to meet with certain people that you were meant to meet with, even in passing. God has a plan, and He is the master strategist.
He guides our steps.
He opens our hearts.
He heals, delivers, and breaks free.
