It’s hard to know the right way to go. We know how to carry ourselves day to day. We know how to trust the Lord in our day-to-day and release all of the things that we are concerned about in our lives, but it’s hard to know which path is the right path to take.
Which path lines up with the vision God has shown you?
Which path is God ordained to be a blessing and not a curse? To be a breakthrough and not a point of stagnation?
Knowing which way to go, getting clarity, and walking in it sometimes takes time. More than just the scope of the opportunity, there’s time that needs to be evaluated when considering which way to go. There’s time; sometimes we feel like we’re running out of time, but when we have the time to sit with it, we can sit with the Lord. We can pray. We can fast.
We can turn on our plates and receive what thus sayeth of the Lord through prayer, through fasting, through our spiritual work. Now, what if all the fasting is done? You’ve done all the praying, and you know it’s time to move. You know it’s time to grow. And when you look at the opportunities before you, and you wonder, God, which one is the right one?
Which one is going to be the right outfit to wear to this interview?
Which one? Which way?
In these moments, the scripture tells us how to navigate this. It tells us to lean not to our own understanding. In Proverbs chapter 3:5-6, it states:
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
So in all of our ways, we are encouraged, advised, instructed through Proverbs to acknowledge Him in every way, to know that he is God, to seek him first before making decisions, and to come to the Lord in prayer around the tiniest of things. In doing so, we begin to walk with God in a more intimate way.
