Today’s Devotional Scripture: 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. - Mark 4:37 - 39 KJV

Audio Version Of This Devotional: Through The Storms Audio
It may look like the end, but God is able. It may feel like it's over, but God brings peace, and he restores. And this scripture we see, we're in the middle of what was a life-threatening storm. The people were overwhelmed, and asked God the question many have asked,
“Lord, do you care? Do you care that it's almost over, that it's almost the end? Do you care that the marriage has ended? Do you care that the job has ended? Do you care that my husband is dealing with these issues? Do you care that my children are struggling? Do you care, Lord? Do you care?”
As they asked him this question, he arose and went forth, and in his going forth, he spoke a few words to the sea. He told it to be still, and immediately the wind ceased. Immediately there was a great calm. In the storms of life, it may feel like there's no way out. It may feel like this is the end, and that wave after wave of life will overwhelm you. It may feel like you're already sinking, but God is faithful and he is able to restore.
God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should change his mind. Has he said it and not made it good?
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? - Numbers 23:19 KJV
The God of all grace and glory is moving in your situation. He's breaking up every wall. Every stronghold is being broken but it doesn't always feel like that when you're in the storm. It may feel like there's no way out, and that this is just all it's ever going to be, but the Lord in one moment broke the storm and brought peace. What he said after he did this in verse 39 is he said to them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? This is Mark chapter four, verse 40.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? - Mark 4:40 KJV
It was Mark 4:40 when he said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you do not believe?” This is the question to ponder today. How is it after all that God has done in your life? How is it after all the miracles that you've seen him perform that you are doubting now in any shape or form that he's not able to carry you through this storm? How is it that there is any unbelief? Be like the man who cried out for the Lord to work in his family. Turn away from the doubt and insecurity. Let's go to Mark Chapter 9:24.
We're going to read that in the King James version, and it says:
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. - Mark 9:24 KJV
He knew that he was looking at the answer. Yet and still, he knew he needed help. He was looking at his deliverance. He was looking at the answer and still needed help with the unbelief. Be honest about the fact that there are things that you are struggling with. Be honest about the fact that there are things that you've seen in dreams and visions that haven't come to pass, that you're beginning to wonder if they were real or just fantasies.
You're beginning to wonder about that God vision and how you're going to see it. You're beginning to wonder how you're going to make it through the divorce. You're beginning to wonder how you're going to make it with your children not being submitted to the Lord. You're wondering how you're going to make it financially. Every storm of life, no matter what the storm is, the Lord is with you and he has the ability to turn every situation around for his glory and it doesn't matter how long it's been.
When you go over to Mark chapter 9 verse 21 through 25, it reads:
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. - Mark 9:21-25 KJV
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
As you read on, you see where the Lord not only speaks these words, but you see in the following verses where the spirit cries out, rips things apart, and tries to kill the child before it is evicted from the child. And Jesus brings life back to the child. This is the glory of God at work. This is the glory of God.
It doesn't matter how long this has been an affliction. It doesn't matter how long the enemy has tried to break you, has tried to separate your child from their righteous mind, has tried to come against your finances. It doesn't matter how long the storm has lasted. Just know that the Lord can suddenly, immediately break the storm and carry you through for such a time as this.
He is faithful and he is able to do it. The enemy cannot have God's glory. He will have his honor upon every stronghold; upon every demonic principality and dark force. The Lord will have the glory. He will and he's able. It's up to you to hold on, to trust in the Lord with all your heart and all your might and lean not unto your own understanding. And in all of thy ways, acknowledge our God that he may direct your path through the storms, through the rain, through the sudden shifts, uncomfortable situations, and through the pain. He is God. He is more than able.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for this mighty woman of God. I thank you for the favor of God. I thank you that ways are being made. I thank you for the peace of God. Lord, you are Jireh. You are a provider. All authority belongs to you.
I thank you, oh God, for shifting the situation. I thank you that the mighty woman of God knows in her heart that you are able to do what you said you would do. I thank you that every hindering spirit has to break. I thank you that there is a way, that there is a shift, that there is movement, and that God is able to do what he said he would do. I thank you, Lord, and I just give you glory for shifting the environment now.
Lord God, I pray that you would shore up her faith, stir up her most holy faith, oh God, that she would believe again, that she would rise again, that, Lord, the spirit of unbelief would break, and that she will believe and believe only. I thank you right now, God, that you will be done, for you, God, are a strong tower, and Lord, all authority and all dominion is a gift from you, God. It is what you've given us, oh God, to move through this world with victory.
I thank you that the woman of God knows right here, right now, that you are reminding her that she has the victory, and that, Lord, you are with her, that this battle is not hers, it's yours, oh God. You can do what you said that you would do. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
