Audio Version Of This Devotional: The Name of The Lord Audio
The name of the Lord is a place of peace and solace for millions of believers worldwide. We know that there is a God. We believe that He rose from the dead in the form of Jesus Christ and ascended to heaven after three days and after the crucifixion.
So we believe in Jesus. We believe that the name of the Lord is our solace, a strong tower, a place of peace, and worthy to be praised. The name of the Lord in this case, whether it is Jesus, Jehovah, or Yahweh, all of these variations of blessing the Lord our God and lifting Him above the noise of this world are effective tools to tear down the walls spiritually and to see the glory of the Lord revealed supernaturally.
It takes you knowing and believing in something greater than you. This is not just you alone making it work. This is not you alone in the struggle because of your gender or your race or your fears or what happened when you were younger. Here and now you are a new creature. You are being remade in his image. To walk with God and to follow his will is to become brand new. This is what the Bible says in Romans.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:2 KJV
To be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. To grow through transformation means letting go of all of the idealism and all of the labels that so often keep us grounded in certain thoughts, certain patterns, and certain fears. These strongholds must come down. The first step to the strongholds coming down and you walking right out of patterns, out of the ups and downs, the highs and the lows is for you to recognize that He is the Lord.
Maybe, just maybe, yes, you could try doing it on your own. But to do it with God brings in a layer of grace and power that we know by faith we cannot get on our own. Matthew 19:26 says,
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. - KJV
To believe in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and to trust in him is the weight that we all carry as believers. To lean into Jehovah Jireh, the same one that Abraham met at the top of Mount Moriah takes faith. To meet Jehovah Shalom, the God that brings us peace, takes submission. And to call on His name means you know you're calling on the grace and glory of God that is bigger than you.
Now the world wants you to stop believing that Jesus is real. The chief aim of the enemy is to convince us that what we've seen by faith isn't real. It's an attempt to destabilize a move of God when another wave of His glory comes. When things begin to turn in our favor, it's easy for the enemy to dissuade us from moving forward and cause us to believe that it's just a fluke, that this is nothing that we can trust, and there's nothing that we can depend on.
But the truth of the matter is, the name of the Lord is our strong tower. The name of the Lord is a balm to our hearts and minds. It is a shifter of atmospheres and there's scripture that says to call on the name of the Lord. Jeremiah 33 and 3 in the King James Version is one of those scriptures. It says in this verse:
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. - Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
In this case, we can call out Father and he knows who we're calling. He knows that we're looking for his assistance. He knows that we're seeking him. Father, God, Jehovah, Jesus, all of these are all calling on Jesus. We are blessed that our God is not stagnant but omnipresent. He is not dead but alive and well. He is the Risen King. So his name until this day still carries power. When we begin to believe in the I am that I am, and we begin to trust in him, our insecurities, weaknesses, and doubts no longer matter.
We can trust in the Lord. We can walk with Him. We will see the fullness of the Lord in the land of the living.
So will you lift up his name today?
Will you lift up the name of the Lord?
Will you lift him up and trust him once more?
Doing so may be the very difference between repeating this pattern again and breaking free, overcoming every device of the enemy, and finally starting to win. Release every fear. Release the feeling that you are alone. The Bible says that God will never leave you and never forsake you. In this way, we can trust that the word of the Lord is true, that the name of the Lord is indeed a strong tower, and the ratchets can run in and we are safe.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you, Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for the mighty woman of God listening to this devotional right now. I thank you, oh God, that she is waiting. She loves you. She trusts you. She needs you in her life, oh God, so I thank you that the mighty woman of God is opening up her heart to receive that you are her father, that you are the Holy One, that you are the Righteous God, the great I am, the sovereign Lord, the King of Kings, the Lord our God.
You are able to do what you said that you could do, and you come by many names, but you are only one God. I thank you, Lord God, for Jehovah, Jehovah-Tsidkenu. Thank you for being the God of heaven's armies. Thank you, God, for fighting our battles. Thank you, God, that when the enemy desires to sift us as wheat, that you pray for us.
You intercede for us and your mercies are new every morning, so we may go before you and release and break and tear down strongholds, knowing that it is the anointing that breaks the yoke. It is the anointing that brings favor. It is anointing of God which shifts regions. It is the anointing, oh God, that we are looking for, not by might, nor by power, but by your spirit. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
