Opening Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you, God, that we’ve made it through another day. Thank you, God, for traveling mercy. Thank you, God, that we have made it to this moment, God. And the mighty woman of God is here now, ready to settle in, ready to settle down. But Lord, maybe, just maybe, she’s seeking and searching.
So I’m praying tonight, God, for the seeking and the searching, God, to turn from the things of this world to the things of the Spirit. I’m praying tonight, God, that the mighty woman of God would be still, that she would sit with you, oh God, that she would wait in the silence and listen and know that you are right there, God. I pray, God, the mighty woman of God opens up a space for you tonight, where she can be still and receive your love, your presence, and the outpouring of your Spirit.
I’m praying that the entire day, all of the to-do lists, the chaos, the things that still aren’t done, the things she wished she could have accomplished and didn’t, that we put all of that down in the name of Jesus, and we be still and know that you are God. I thank you right now, God, for the mighty woman of God lifting you up. I thank you right now, God, for her being settled. I thank you for the peace of God over all that concerns her, God.
Thank you for the peace over her heart, over her mind, over her home. Let the Spirit of the Lord come in and just rest. Let all manner of chaos break in the name of Jesus. Every distraction has to come down, even the emotional turmoil that she might have come through today, oh God.
I thank you, God, that the ups and the downs of the day, the emotional upheavals, just the feeling that the world is heavy, I pray in the name of Jesus that it would break under the weight of your glory in Jesus’ name. I’m praying for the peace of God to cover her, to cover her home, and to give her perfect peace, peace that goes beyond understanding, that goes beyond this moment.
Lord, I thank you for the righteousness of God. I thank you, oh God, that there is nothing missing and nothing broken, for you are the great I Am. You know what it is the mighty woman of God needs. You know the heaviness that she’s dealt with. You know the secret desires of her heart. So I thank you, oh God, that no matter where she is in her journey, that here and now, she can sit with you knowing that you are Jehovah Nissi.
You are our provider. You are Jehovah Shalom, the God of our peace. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name.

As you face another night in your home at peace, looking at the to-do list and things that maybe have not gotten done, I’m thankful that no matter what, no matter what, the Lord our God is with you. No distractions, no overwhelm. Tonight is a night for you to recapture your peace and to be restored in the grace and the glory of God and the power of His might.
Life gets pretty heavy. Things happen. The to-do list can get crazy. But, through it all, He is still God. The issues of life seem really heavy in this season because of all that is happening globally, all that’s happening in our country, all that’s happening in society, all that we wish we could change, and the things that we wish would change more quickly than they have.
Wherever you are on the journey, tonight, let go. Grab a pen, grab some paper, and just flow. Start writing out all the things that you are blessed with in this moment. Center your heart on the things of God. Keep your mind on the things above. Whatever is good, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, think on these things. This is what allows us to be still in the midst of the issues of life. It allows us to just soak in the glory and the grace of God.
Philippians 4:8 states:
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. - Philippians 4:8-9 KJV
That’s who we need tonight. We need Jehovah Shalom, the God of our peace. The God who keeps us when we want things to move faster. The God who keeps us when we don’t know which way to go. He is God in the midst, inside, and outside of our control. He is God alone.
He is Jehovah. He is our creator. He is the one who created the universe and everything in it. And here and now, God knows what you’re dealing with. So pour it out, release it, come before His throne of grace with thanksgiving, and remember that he is with you.
He shall never leave you nor forsake you. The word tells us this: that he shall never leave us nor forsake us. In Hebrews 13:5, it states,
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. - Hebrews 13:5 KJV
So Hebrews 13:5 clearly lays out the contentment, not looking to the left nor to the right, not wishing things would be different, or hoping that you could have done things differently. None of that changes the reality of the moment you are in. In this moment, restore your peace in Christ Jesus.
Rest in His presence and know that the Lord our God is with you. The weighted glory of God is with you. He is touching every part of your life, and in the midst of where you are, he is bringing the comforter, the Holy Spirit, who is already at work within you. But there are times when you need the weight of God.
You need the glory of God.
You need the stabilizing force of His Spirit, and this may be one of those times. If it is, I pray tonight that you receive the stabilizing force of the Lord, that through the trials of life, through the circumstances and the tribulations, He is still God. He is holy, and he is righteous. He knows exactly what you are dealing with. He knows the weight. He knows how anxiety can creep up, and you can start to worry and wonder and just overthink.
But God knows and says, Be still and know that I am God. The stillness that he speaks of in Psalm 46:10 is the stillness that comes not just with not moving, but it comes with:
not overthinking,
not being afraid,
not worrying,
not being anxious,
But knowing that He is the sovereign God. That is the grace of God, and Philippians 4:8-9 shows us what to focus on that we may restore our peace. That we can step fully into His promises again so that we are no longer overwhelmed, that we can abruptly take control of the atmosphere, and we can take every thought captive to Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV).
Every thought can be captive to His name, His will, and His way. We have these scriptures that give us the guidelines that show us the way, and that light up our path so that we know how to move forward.
I pray that if there be anything in your life stagnant, if there be anything that feels stuck, that it be uprooted now in the name of Jesus, that the sovereign God can touch every part of your life. And He can. He can touch every part of your situation. He knows where you are. He is El Roi, the God who sees us. And He sees you right where you are.
Take heart tonight that you are not alone, but the peace of God would overwhelm you and would ground you and would give you perfect peace tonight that you may rest and recover in Jesus name. I pray you recover all. Have a good night. I’ll see you in the next Evening Devotional.
