God has given us the gift of everlasting life. He paid the sacrifice when he willingly laid down his life on calvary. We know this to be true. This is the foundation of our faith. We know that God is good and that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ as a living sacrifice for us.
We know that He is generous and that he gives good things to us who love him, who believe in him, who are ready to open our hearts and receive from him. We know this. There is so much that is known about receiving this gift. This gift from God of everlasting life.
This gift of the cost for our sins being paid. These costs we don’t have to pay. The gift for salvation, the cost for salvation, He has already paid it. We don’t have to pay to save ourselves or redeem ourselves. God has already paid the costs. We need only receive what God said of the Lord.
We need only believe that He is God, that he is able, that he died on the cross and rose for us. That is what we believe as followers of Christ. But this is truly just the beginning. There is a deeper consideration to be had when walking this walk with King Jesus.
Yes, the Lord has paid the cost for our salvation. Yes, He has paid the cost for you to be saved and for us to be set free. He’s paid the cost, and you don’t have to pay that at all. But why is there never a consideration of the cost you have to pay in order to walk this walk?
The Lord our God has provided mightily for us in the form of His holy scripture. His holy word gives us instruction. His holy word gives us revelation.
The Holy Spirit brings clarity to that, gives us understanding of the depth of the book, and of His Spirit. We have that. All of that has been given. But so often it is difficult for us to pay the cost to receive the gift of salvation and the gift of life.
