Cornerstone Scripture:
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. - John 4:23 KJV
The Message For Today:
The time has come and now is for they that worship to worship in spirit and in truth. The breaker's anointing is here. God is here. The Breaker represents the power of God to move in every situation in your life. It's here. It's here. Holy Spirit is ringing the alarm that it's time. It's time to worship. It's time to rise up in spirit and in truth.
The cornerstone scripture marks the transformational shift for the Woman at The Well. From that moment going forward, the woman of God released her water pot. She left her bucket and began to shift. She moved and in verse 28 of the same chapter, it says that she went her way into the city and said to the men:
“Come see a man which told me all the things that I ever did. Is this not the Christ?”
The woman of God had a boldness after she had this encounter with Jesus. Jesus was carrying, in that moment, living water. If you go and read John 4:1- 29, you will see where the woman of God slowly but surely begins to come to the realization that she was speaking to the solution.
She was speaking to the Messiah. She didn't know it at first. She began to operate in the way that she'd always operated. But by the time the encounter reached its fulfillment and it’s purpose, the woman of God was ready to go tell others about the encounter.
She was quick to go and tell others: “Come see a man which told me all things that I ever did. Is this not the Christ?”
This woman left the encounter with Jesus on fire. Why? Because Jesus carried in him an answer. He waited for her knowing that she would be there and sent his disciples to go away to get meat so that he could be there alone. There would be no distractions. It would be only him and her. In this moment, we saw the transformation of a woman who had a riddled history, a troubled past, and who was a pariah of sorts in her community.
She was literally turned around and was empowered to be the first evangelist. This woman went and spoke to the men in the city: “Come and see a man, which told me all the things I ever did. Is he not the Christ?”
She came heralding a sound. She came carrying in her the transformation that happened at the well that day and it changed many lives immediately.
Suddenly
Some believed immediately upon her words. But then a couple of days later, after listening, many more believed.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. - John 4:39-42 KJV
Here we see the divine formula for transforming lives. This simple journey is to share the testimony of how God has shown you yourself, how he has brought forth the revelation of you, and how he has transformed you into being:
a worshipper,
a follower of him, and
a believer in his word.
Many, it says, in that moment, believed because of her words. “For the saying of the woman” is what it says in verse 39 of the King James Version. Then after a couple more days, many more believed and became followers because of his word. It says that in verse 41.
So her words mattered. They transformed lives immediately and then guided others to know God and to know through Jesus, through the personhood of Jesus, that they could seek transformation as well. This woman became an evangelist who had power. That's what the breaker's anointing does for you.
It transforms your life! So what are the 4 steps of transformation that occurred in John 4:1-29?:
1. A pattern was broken
The pattern of the woman going to that well and hiding away in the middle of the day because no one wanted to be seen with her, was immediately broken.
When she ran in verse 28 and left her water pot, she left that cycle and the tools of that cycle behind. So Jesus came to break her pattern. That's number one.
2. Jesus Showed Her Herself
In that moment, Jesus came to bring revelation, show her exactly where she was, and shine a mirror. This mighty woman of God was able to see herself as who God saw her as: a worshiper in spirit and in truth. He gave her an opportunity. Even though it was widely believed that she could not go to the temple in Jerusalem (you can read the chapter for more revelation there), Jesus said: the time has come and now is for they that worship to worship in spirit and in truth. He was saying to her, you don't need a temple.
Jesus clearly clarified that our Father was seeking worshippers like her; the kind of people who sought to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
The revelation may have shaken her because it took him showing her that he knew that she had no husband. He further revealed that he knew that the 5 men before her current one were husbands and that the one she was with was not her husband.
He began to show her her history. He did this through the Spirit in him.
After breaking the pattern and bringing revelation that she was in the midst of something different, there was a pivot that happened here.
3. Introduced a Pivot
This woman of God began to see that there was a liberty that came upon her. She realized that she could worship right where she was and that she didn't have to go to a specific place or a specific moment in time. She was now free to worship him right then and there. This freedom came with the knowledge from Jesus that God was seeking her as He was seeking those who would worship in spirit and in truth.
That revelation, followed by the liberty is what broke the pattern.
It's what broke the old cycle. It's what freed her to go forth with boldness and speak. Where she was hiding from them before and where there was shame on her before, the encounter broke the power of shame and freed her to go and say with boldness “Come see a man.”
It became less about her and more about the message of her life.
4. The Encounter Unlocked Her Purpose
This encounter with Jesus unlocked her purpose. It gave her more than just the history of what she had gone through. It gave her liberty and the freedom to be what God required of her right then and there.
This is what God does when He comes as the breaker in your life. He comes in to break patterns and cycles, to show you the truth of where you are, and to show you that you are more than what you've always done. The breaker shows you that there is a purpose for your life.
When you see that there's a purpose for the pain, you believe that God can, and you know that he has you covered, there's nothing that God cannot do. There is a clarity that comes to you. The breaker's anointing that was evident for this woman at the well becomes the anointing that comes forth in your life with clarity.
This is the season and now is the time. This is the moment for you to trust God, open your heart, and allow the breakers to come forth over you. Allow the power of God to be fulfilled in your life and for God to make all things new.
