Thank you for 35,000 Subscribers!
Thank you! A free training next week
Good evening!
First, I want to say thank you for being a paid subscriber to Daily Devotional for Women. After building here and growing in the assignment to pray and write devotionals, I was blessed to see growth begin to spring up in May of 2025.
All Of A Sudden
Right when I was about to give up, God began to grow this publication from 94 subscribers on May 1, 2025, to over 35,393 subscribers as of this morning.
At the time, I was confused about how the growth was happening. I was doing the same thing I had been doing for 14 months. Praying daily (with His help, lol) and writing a daily devotional.
I was uncertain about why the sudden growth occurred.
Over the last 9 months, 35,000 women like you opted to join, and I put on my social media strategist hat and began to study the platform. Not just produce and pour my heart into it, but really study the platform, the numbers, my daily actions, and where the increase was coming from.
By way of Edom
It felt like a 2 Kings 3 moment. I knew I was digging the trenches. I have done this before. With 124,00 followers on Instagram and 100,000 follwers on FB, I felt I was experienced enough to come to Substack and do the same thing.
I was 100% wrong!
I was thinking like a social media marketer on platforms that penalize you for successfully taking people off of the platform. Substack is something completely different and at first, I could not see it.
After months of seeing no growth, I was frustrated. I wanted to quit and move on, but remained obedient to the assignment. Daily prayer. Daily devotional.
Then, something caught my attention. When I was steps away from going back to my business coaching and creating a new strategy, I got an email. “New Subscriber to Daily Devotional for Women”. Then another, a few hours later. At first, I just ignored it.
By May 7, I stopped ignoring the email and looked. I did a note tagging Substack. I asked if something changed. I started to become more consistent and started restructuring the devotional as led by the Holy Spirit.
I started testing things. The trickle of new subscriber emails became a flow, and by July, I was locked in. After 10 years in business, I pay attention when something shifts. I don’t ignore it or minimize it, no matter how small.
By July 30, there were 3,000 subscribers, and the growth kept coming.
I’ve learned a few things since then
I was led this week to share exactly what I learned and how every woman who is called to write and create can begin to operate differently here on Substack. The intention, the aim, and the missteps I’ve made along the way will all be shared next Thursday at 2 pm Eastern.
