The victory of the Lord is your portion. How you walk with God from season to season and from day to day determines what the victory in your life will be. Whether you walk with him by faith or whether you walk with Him by sight, you intentionally decide on how you will live.
You unintentionally walk through situations without faith or without knowing the grace and the glory of God in that situation. To walk through life without faith is actually unintentional. We know who God is. We love our God. We go to church. We are good people. We have good jobs, or we have amazing husbands that love us and care for us.
But walking with God by faith is a conscious effort.
There are some things that we do, like driving from place to place, walking, you know, across the street. These things require a measure of faith that you will get to your destination safely, that you won’t be hit or hurt, that kind of thing.
But faith that is imbued in your very actions, your walk, how you move with God, the testimonies that you aspire to tell, the grace that you receive day by day, the actions you take, the moments where you choose not to quit, these are all intentional faith.
Many of us are not quite familiar with that kind of faith. Faith that is no longer just a noun, but a verb. Faith that goes beyond just waiting on God and believing that he will, and shifts into walking with God and knowing that he is able by your living, active faith. For we know that faith without works is dead.
So spirit-born victory is victory that is assured because you are walking with God by faith. Spirit-born victory is something that comes upon you by you operating in the ordered steps of the Lord.
The steps of building,
the steps of growing,
the steps of speaking and communicating with certain people a certain way,
the steps of applying to that new job,
the steps of going into that program,
the steps of building that new business,
The steps of going into marriage counseling, knowing that God is able to restore.
These are the things that require intentional faith and require us to believe in our hearts that God is able to turn situations around.
Living faith, faith that moves mountains, faith that makes you whole, and faith that increases from day to day, from grace to grace, and from glory to glory. It’s all intentional. It requires that we be mindful, that we speak life, that we move with intention, that our steps are ordered by our prayers, that we seek His face, that we go before him and ask him,
Lord, shall I pursue? Shall I go forth?
Shall I go up? Shall I remove or shall I remain?
These are the steps that we do when we go before the Lord and pray, asking him for guidance and waiting for an answer. We are then operating in a kind of faith that allows us to write the vision and make it plain, because Habakkuk in Habakkuk 2 was waiting in the ramparts. He was waiting for the Lord to answer him. In doing so, the Lord told him to write the vision and make it plain.
So we know that when we’re walking with God and seeking his face for spirit-born victory, we’re no longer operating in our own understanding. We’re not leaning to our own understanding. We’re acknowledging God in all of our ways that he may direct our path.
We’re no longer operating by might.
We’re no longer looking at what we can do. We’re not looking at our finite bodies as a totality of what’s powering our steps. We are going beyond what we think we can do. We are moving beyond our capacity in terms of taking action that is born of faith, knowing that we can only go so far,
But what if I trusted that God was with me?
What if I trusted that the Lord was guiding my every step?
What if I trusted God?
These questions being asked daily, these questions being asked in the pursuit of growth in the house of the Lord, growth in your business, growth in your career, growth in your education, growth as a mother, growth as a business owner, an entrepreneur, growth as a sister, as a caregiver, as a daughter, as a friend, these things are all connected to faith.
Not that we are overly thinking about all of these things, but that our faith is making us whole. Our faith is to seek His face versus going forth in our own understanding, our own limitations. When we decide to go to God and inquire of the Lord, when we decide to seek his face before taking action, and when we believe that he is with us in every moment, we are operating in conscious faith, conscious, intentional faith that is full of life.
We see it with the woman with the issue of blood. In scripture, she said, if I can just touch the hem of his garment, then I will be made whole (Mark 5:28 KJV). There was something in her. There was an idea that was then voiced. It was given voice. It was given a firm, “if I”: if I can just, if I can do, then I will be made whole.
In this case, the way that we translate that scripture into our day to day lives is we look at the things that we’ve been trying to figure out on our own, the things that we spent years attempting to build, years attempting to make work, years attempting to make it successful, and years of just going around in the wilderness and wondering, God, when? How do you want me to do it? Wondering, thinking, praying, crying out to the living God.
When you come out of those wilderness seasons, when you step into a solid place where Christ sees us, it must be by this kind of faith, this kind of intentional belief. It is this intention which orders our steps. It is this intention which allows us to reach, to believe, to turn the ideas into reality, to say, “If I can just, if this be the will of the Father, I know that he will be there for me.”
What is it that God is calling you to do? What is it that God is calling you to build? How is it that He’s calling you to move? How is it that he has been showing you and exposing things to you and giving you vision and dreams? What are these things that He’s brought forth?
Think on these things. Think on the vision that He has given you. Think on the dreams. Think on the truth of God’s word.
Open your heart to receive victory that is born of His Spirit and not just by the work of your hands. Victory and healing and breakthrough that is rooted in the impossible, because you know that if you can do just this, then you will be made whole. Something will break.
Remember that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of the Lord. Now’s the time to hear. Now’s the time to seek. Now’s the time to pray and to seek his face.
