**Sip Saturday is written by our Saturday morning contributor, M.H. Elrich. A beautifully gifted Christian author who seeks to honor the Trinity in her writing. She hopes that her words will encourage women to draw closer to God, whether that is through her fantasy series or her weekly devotionals.
Cornerstone Scripture:
“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end…”
-Hebrews 3:14 KJV
Sharing is Caring.
I’m sure many of you have heard that expression before, especially around the holiday season. During that time, we are inundated with advertisements or letters asking us to give to various causes. Even though many of us want to be generous with our time, money, or resources, it can be exhausting. This is especially the case during the holiday season, when people are rushing from one event to another. Regardless of the time of year, sharing can feel like the last thing we want to do.
Whenever I feel this way, I remember Jesus’ endless efforts to serve others. Even when he was exhausted and overwhelmed, desiring solitude and silence, he had compassion on the crowds of people who followed him (Matthew 14:13-21). Divinely, he distributed food to more than five thousand people that day, sharing a little boy’s lunch with others. He gave even when he was empty emotionally and physically.
This type of giving is something we are not capable of doing on our own. When we are emotionally spent, it’s important to seek God as a means of refueling. We shouldn’t push ourselves forward without relying on God. He alone is the wellspring of life, and he alone can supply our every need.
This is what the author of Hebrews is referring to: partaking in Christ’s life through the Holy Spirit. His eternal, abundant life is ours for the taking as long as we surrender our lives to him and hold fast to the end. Christ provides the energy and compassion we need to share with others.
So, even when you don’t feel like sharing or that you’re too exhausted to care, remember to turn to God. He will give you the rest you need and replenish your soul. Then, you’ll be ready to give once again to others.
Let’s pray.
Dear Lord, please help me when I’m feeling spent. Give me the fuel I need to keep going, and the heart I need to be ready to sacrifice my time, money, or energy to serve others. I want to share what you have done in my life. In Your Son’s Name, Amen.

A timely word. Bless you
