Our service last night had a darkened room and the noise of a stone being rolled in front of the tomb. It gave perspective on how awful the group of men and women Christ followers would have felt. It was likely confusing and disorienting for them to see Jesus laid in the tomb. It is right to deeply think about what Jesus went through.
The words "I thirst" were a focus last night. I always thought it was a mainly physical thirst, but our pastor compared it to John 4 (Jesus giving living water). Jesus was only given sour wine. And Matthew 5 speaks to having hunger and thirst for righteousness.
