Audio Version Of This Devotional: Shielded Vessels Audio
The Lord has kept you with His mighty right arm through all of life's ups and downs. The Lord has been faithful to preserve you for such a time as this. To be vessels of the Lord, bearing forth purpose, assignment, praise, and worship is a blessing. But it is also a responsibility.
To carry the assignment to completion, to trust God in the development of your life: These are all things that are part of who we become as we are walking with God. To be the vessel of the Lord means that you are essentially carrying the weight of either a family, or a football team, or a corporation, or a whole city. To have that weight, to have that assignment, and to be covered by God is a blessing.
In this scripture, we see that it says that the Lord is both strength and shield, that the heart of the writer trusts in the Lord, and that help comes from that trust. There is so much to unpack in this very small verse of scripture around trusting, around believing, and walking with God. To be a vessel of the Lord is our assignment, but to be a shielded vessel is something different. That means that someone else sees your inherent value and has decided to come and cover you.
There's so much more in store for your life than just remaining where you are or where you've always been. Being a shielded vessel of the Lord means that you are being covered in every season. You can trust in Him. You can walk with Him. When you trust the Lord and when you walk with him, you begin to shift your life, your mindset, and that of your family.
Because of your faith, walls begin to come down.
Because of your faith, supernatural opportunities open up.
Because of your faith, things shift.
This is why the enemy is so adamant about sifting, killing, and destroying the people of God. He is so adamant about bringing in chaos and sifting you as wheat because your faith has weight. What you believe and how you believe in the Lord carries weight. God shields you from the issues of life. He shields you from the mistakes you may have made. He brings back to your remembrance who you are in Christ Jesus time and time again.
He layers on care and he layers on peace. He layers on Holy Ghost-led relationship that helps you to blossom in being the vessel of the Lord, the vessel of joy and peace. For many, just you being happy and joyous is the answer that someone else is looking for. Carrying the weight of joy in the environment is a necessity. Carrying the weight of peace in the environment is a necessity. This is how you walk with God. You walk as a light on a hill that cannot be hidden.
You know that there's things that maybe aren't lining up the way you desire, but collectively we can begin to change those things. We can begin to walk more fully, and it's a mission that the Lord is speaking. We can go forth with the understanding that things work differently in different places, and that we, as a people, we can come together and trust each other. We are all shielded vessels. We all have an assignment. We're all called by God.
Many are called and few are chosen. The Lord, our God, is able to do all that he said he would do. He's able to bring about swift changes in finances and swift releases if we trust him. Trust is an amazing factor. Let's move forth in power. Move forth knowing that God has you covered, that you are secured, that he is surrounding you, and that your faith can be like a shield. This is the will of the Father, that you would be ready and reopen to shift.
As you leave this devotional, bear in mind that being a shielded vessel, it has less to do with what you believing you deserve shielding or trust. It has more to deal with what you're releasing, who needs what, having an actual business, having the peace of God over it, and being covered by the blood. This is what it means to be a shielded vessel, to be full of glory in the walk with God.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you for covering the mighty woman of God from beginning to end. Thank you for the outpouring of your spirit. Please Lord, have your way. As the mighty woman of God is preparing for her day, I pray to you will go forth, oh God, that every word of this devotional begins to really connect with her in a way that is so true, so real, that the grace and the glory of God begins to be released swiftly.
I thank God that it's not by might, nor by power, but by his spirit that we can begin to see progress. So Lord, I thank you right now that your spirit is going forth. I thank you for being the King of Kings and a Lord of Lords. Lord, everything belongs to you. You are God alone.
We thank you for binding, breaking, and putting away every vain thing that's not like you. I thank you, God, for the peace of God. I thank you for the journey. I thank you, God, that together we're going to see something new. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
