Today’s Devotional Scripture: 21 And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?
22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
23 For the Lord your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.

We Forget So Easily
Do you ever remember something and wonder how you ever forgot it? It was so important at one time, and now you realize you have not thought about it in quite a while. It almost shocks you that it is a thing of the past now.
Isn’t it amazing that God knows we forget all too easily? God knows us so well that the word ‘remember’ shows up 172 times throughout Scripture!
This is true for so many things, but especially when He has been faithful to see us through difficult seasons. He has walked with us through so much and yet, we doubt. He knows we forget what He has carried us through. If He does not remind us, He knows we will not remember.
The Stones at the Jordan
In Joshua 3:14-17, the Israelites were up against the Jordan River. It was daunting, but they needed to cross it. God made the waters still so that they could cross. When they got to the other side, God told them to place rocks there to remember what He had done: that He had been faithful and present and powerful.
Notice the waters were still there, but God kept them away. He made a dry path for them to cross over, and His presence (represented by the Ark of the Covenant) did not leave the river until everyone was safely across. Their journey was not over, and there were struggles to come.
God told them to take the time to remember Him because it would give them strength in the days to come and would serve to teach future generations who He is.
Today, remember Him.
What has He already carried you through?
Trust Him to do it again.

My Prayer For You:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for reminding us that honoring the small moments truly matters. Growing as women of God and your precious daughters doesn’t mean forgetting the moment where your goodness and mercy carried us through. Thank you, Lord, for the grace and the glory as we move through this day. For ourselves and for future generations, help us to remember and walk in the grace of your love. In Jesus ' mighty name, Amen.
