Today’s Devotional Scripture: 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. - Isaiah 61:3 KJV

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

Our God is a mighty God. He is more than able to change every season. He is more than able to bring about new doors, new opportunities, fresh revelation, and new elevation in Him.

What we see in the cornerstone scriptures is God saying that there is time for an exchange. There is time for something different. There’s a time to be made new and to be draped differently. We can see this in the cornerstone scriptures, and we can see this in our everyday lives.

Whenever a physical season changes, we all go out, we clear our closets, we look at what we have, and we dress for the season. We dress for the weather. We dress for the fall, the spring, the winter, and the summer. We dress differently in every season.

Likewise, when walking with God, as he begins to change things in your life, as new doors of opportunity open up for you, as the Lord brings you higher in prayer, as he elevates you in his presence and his spirit, a new wardrobe is needed. But the wardrobe is not physical. The wardrobe is spiritual, a new robe, a new way of being, and a new presentation in the Spirit.

This is in prayer. This is in fasting. This is in you growing with the Lord. This is in your mind being made up. This is in the continual daily renewal of your mind, which brings about great transformation. All of this happens because we’re walking with the Lord. All of this happens because we are under the weight of glory.

And because we are under the weight of glory, we know that we’re not alone. We know that we can trust in the Lord and that if he says to go, we can go with boldness and with confidence that the Lord is right there with us. Here in the cornerstone scriptures, in Isaiah, we see that the Lord is saying that it’s time for an exchange, to give unto them beauty for ashes immediately.

He’s saying it’s time to let go of the end of a thing and to step into the beauty that comes after death, after the end, after it’s over. The Lord wants to bring in changes, transformation, and renewal, but that means something has to die. The old you has to be released.

You must be made new.

Whenever the term, that is so often used, is used in conversation, it is literally an indication that the person is not ready to grow and probably are not growing in Christ Jesus. When a person says, “That’s just who I am”, they are denying the power of God and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit as they walk with God.
