Today’s Devotional Scripture: 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
- Acts 4:11-12 KJV

These words were uttered in Acts 4 after the apostles were challenged to stop doing miracles in the name of Jesus. They were advised that they could still do the work, they could still go forth and do the signs, but they could not do it in the name of Jesus. In response to this, the disciples decided to do something a little different.
Peter and John blessed a man and healed him.
In verse 6 of Acts chapter 3, it states:
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. - Acts 3:6 KJV
Immediately, his feet and ankle bones received strength in the next verse, and this man began to leap. He was glorifying God, walking, leaping, and praising him. And the only response that they could say was that they were concerned that he had done it in the name of one who was dead.
The issue was that they were doing this in the name of someone that they rejected as the living God. They believed him to be a man that had died and that it was done. And Peter, of course, denied that and decided to go forth, nevertheless.
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. - Acts 4:2-3 KJV
It was already too late, and about 5,000 men, many had already believed the word. They had already believed the preaching. They had already seen the evidence. They had already seen the miracles. There was no stopping the fact that this was done in the name of Jesus. Many began to believe on the name of Jesus.
So they were arrested. In verses 2 and 3, Peter immediately admonished them that, You’ve known we’ve done this in the name of Jesus Christ, and he refused to stop. He refused to stop using the name of Jesus. They were confused, they were frustrated, and they didn’t know what to do to stop Peter.
In verse 18 of chapter 4 it states:
And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. - Acts 4:18 KJV
How powerful is the name that many wanted to stop the miracles. They wanted to stop the breakthrough. They wanted to stop the going forth. They wanted to stop the preaching of the Gospel, because the name of Jesus was not just effective, it was challenging the power of those who were yet living. Peter and John refused to obey them despite the threats.
They decided to go forth nevertheless.
When they went back and reported to the people what had happened, they decided instead of being quiet and silent and heeding the threats of the Sadducees, they decided to keep praying, to keep preaching, and they prayed that they would have strength by the Holy Spirit to do it even more.
They prayed to the Lord, and in verse 31 of chapter 4 it says:
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. - Acts 4:31 KJV
The same that were there in Acts 2 and were filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost were filled again with the Holy Ghost in Acts 4, in the name of Jesus.
Whenever you need the Lord to do a thing, naming the name of Jesus isn’t just a badge. It is an access point. It is the ground that you can stand on. It is the firm foundation of your prayers and of your seeking the Lord when you do it in the name of Jesus.
Every prayer, every decree, everything that you believe, every positive statement, every affirmation, despite any negative thoughts, any negative words, any mubling words, any complaining people speaking death around you, the moment you start to speak life in the name of Jesus, you begin to shift things in heaven and in earth.
For by no other name can we be saved.
By no other name can we be restored. By no other name can we be healed, delivered, and set free. It is the name of Jesus. And so when the enemy comes in like a flood, when the enemy tries to overwhelm you, and when it feels like you are alone and like there is no way out, remember the name of Jesus. It is the weighty glory of God waiting on you to acknowledge, to decree, to receive, to believe, and to release in your environment the power of the risen King.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you:
Father, in the name of Jesus: thank you for the mighty woman of God. Thank you for this brand‑new day. Thank you, God, for miracles, signs, and wonders following. There’s nobody like you, God. I pray in the name of Jesus, as the mighty woman of God leaves this devotional but never your presence, let the word of the Lord sit on her heart like a weight.
Let it be a reminder in her heart that no matter what happens today, that she can call on your name, that she can lift you up, O God, and know in her heart that she will be saved, she will be delivered, and she will be set free. I thank you, God, for ground‑shaking anointing today. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
