Audio Version Of This Devotional: Moment by Moment Audio
Moment by moment, God is moving, things are shifting. Life is unfolding moment by moment. It is a trick of the enemy that we believe that there are markers in our lives that have inexplicably locked us into a season or a mindset. We believe so much that traumatic experiences in our past may be major factors on the decisions we make today, that we often negate the power of God.
We almost set it to the side unintentionally as if the work on the cross somehow isn't finished or isn't complete. As believers in Jesus Christ, we know that the work on the cross is finished, that our faith lines up, our prayers line up, but what God has done is done. Bearing that in mind, moment by moment, take authority over the atmosphere and over your core beliefs.
Consider what may be underlying beliefs rooted in old seasons, old mindsets, and traumatic experiences that no longer have authority over you. What if you could, in this moment, obtain the mercy and find the grace? Hebrews 4:16 make a point to this, “obtain the mercy and find the grace”. It is there in every moment. It is there right now. So what happened 10 years ago, 15 years ago, of course, it happened. It is a real thing that happened. It is what happened a year ago, six months ago, this morning. It is a real thing that happened, yes.
But to feel as if and to come into agreement with the belief that you are stuck in a mindset, a pattern of thinking, or even a condition in your life because of something that happened years ago, months ago, and of treatment when you were younger are all things that keep us bound to old seasons. Find the grace this morning to step into your new season now. Get the support needed to be able to step into the now. The finished work of God is for now.
The Bible says that he is a very present help in the time of trouble. To be a present help now means that God is waiting for you to ask, to knock on that door, to seek that you may find.
God is looking for you to come to him. He is waiting on you to decide that this is going to be the season, the hour, and the moment that you take authority over your life. Allow this to be the season that you come into agreement with the word of the Lord for immediate healing and transformation.
Come into agreement with the word of the Lord about establishing new relationships, new covenants. All things are new in Christ Jesus. Taking this life by the hand, moment by moment, is the secret weapon of those who very easily let things go, don't hold grudges, and can immediately shift into opportunities. It is because they live in the moment. Of course, this is in no way recommending that you be irresponsible.
Of course, planning life and having goals is a natural part of who we are. However, being stuck in the past or connected to a traumatic event and having our hearts and minds and souls stuck in that arena and all of the consequences thereof is not the will of the Father. God can unravel the deep and secret things of your heart. He can bring clarity. The heart is deceitful for who can know it.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
So the Lord can bring clarity to your heart where there was none before. The Lord can bring a new reality and a new version of you through your submitted yes in this hour, in the moment. If you've been holding on to anything and you've been wondering how to release it or let it go, remember this: God is a very present help. Be still, eliminate all of the chatter, step away from the noise. The scripture in Psalm 46:10 says to step away from the noise, take a good long look at our Father, to be still and know that he is God.
Attention, all! See the marvels of God!
He plants flowers and trees all over the earth,
Bans war from pole to pole,
breaks all the weapons across his knee.
“Step out of the traffic! Take a long,
loving look at me, your High God,
above politics, above everything.” - Psalms 46:8-10 MSG
Maybe that is step one. That is the step that you can take now to take advantage of the moment. Step into stillness, release all fear, trust in the Lord, your God, and step into something new right now. Allow God to guide you, allow him to place the opportunities before you. And when they come, remember to receive the instruction to take advantage of the moment.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you, Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you for the grace and the glory. I thank you for being Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Lord, I thank you that this scripture today was a powerful reminder that you are indeed a very present help. You are here right now, God. You are walking with us.
The Bible says that you will never leave us nor forsake us. I thank you for that word right now. I thank you, oh God, that we are not forsaken, that we are not destroyed, that we may be surrounded, but the Lord will have his way. So Lord, I thank you for the promises of God, which are yes and amen. I thank you for the peace of God over the mighty woman of God.
I thank you for the grace and for the glory. I pray in the name of Jesus, that anything that's not like you begins to break, that she begins to release every old thing and cast down all imagination so that she can walk with you, that every high thing that is exalting itself against you begin to come down for you are the Lord. You are good and your mercy endures forever. Lord, you are good and your mercy endures forever. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
