Now we live in a world that loves to talk about manifestation, about their own power, and about how amazing they are at making things happen. The world is so convinced of its own God-like abilities that they often place themselves before the Lord.
They often attempt to force things and to dabble in the idea that they have the ability to force things to happen when they will it. However, as believers in Jesus Christ, God tells us that faith in His word, His will, and His way is different. That is not forcing something to happen. That is not our will being erected outside of His will.
It is not our ideal of ourself being placed above our relationship with our God. Because of the way the world is going, it’s easy to get lost in the fact or the idea of the fact that, in some way, somehow, God has not given us the capacity to create, the capacity to receive, the capacity to obtain in the name of Jesus.
He has given us the ability to receive by faith.
Not a dead faith, not a passive faith, not just our faith that we love Jesus, but an active living faith is what we have. And we’re quick to let that go and abandon that miracle-working faith if it smacks anything of the world, of new age, of the ideal that people can be their own God. And in that way, the enemy wins.
He wins by corrupting the word of the Lord and corrupting our walk with God so that we don’t even desire to be what God called us to be and operate in biblical principles of faith. Active living faith. In Hebrews 11:1, God shows us that the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. That this is what faith truly is.
