The Message For Today (July 28, 2026):

In any given moment, we have a decision to make. As we walk through the issues of life and face uncertain and even devastating circumstances, we have a choice. The choice to come into agreement with what is, or come into agreement with what we believe.
Where the world sees ashes, God sees a new beginning.
Where the world sees devastation, God sees the shaking that brings revelation.
Where the world sees loss and destitution, God sees grace to run a new race full of favor.
We are not limited by this world and by natural thinking. We are not limited by every hindrance in the earth and every affliction of man. We have a great Father, a good, good Father who is mighty to save and mighty to deliver.
Our God is able.
In the cornerstone scripture, we see that the mighty woman of God has shifted. She has decided to not come into agreement with what is. What is concerns death and the end of a dream she never even asked for. She did not ask for a child. She was resigned to being childless.
She was resigned to have a good life. She was taken care of by her family. She had a husband. She was content. But then the man of God came in 2nd Kings 4 and decided to bless her for the seed that she had sown into him. Elijah asked: What can be done for her?, and his servant in 2nd Kings 4 tells Elijah that she does not have a child.
So Elijah speaks life to her womb. The woman bears life. The son grows up, and then all of a sudden one day he comes back out of the fields with his father and sits on her lap with a headache, and that headache leads to death. And we see this situation, and as many will believe, it seems as if it was a dream.
Many would simply be content with the years that were given, the years she never asked for, and the years that she was blessed by God with her son. But she decided to do something different. She made a decision, and that decision was to go to the one who made the promise.
That decision was to go straight to Elijah and weep at his feet, breaking protocol, breaking decorum. In the scripture, after she starts to weep at his feet, his servant attempts to toss her away as she is breaching protocol. That was simply not the standard. But Elijah says something that is important to note.
In verse 27 it states:
“And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.” - 2 Kings 4:27 KJV
He makes an exception.
He stops his servant, and he says, Leave her alone, for her soul is vexed within her. And God had not revealed to him what was bothering her soul, that she would throw herself to the feet of Elijah, weeping unto the man of God, Grieving and wailing as only a mother can. And in that moment when he says to leave her alone, it is reminiscent of what happens later in the New Testament.
When the woman of God pours out her expensive oils and rubs the feet of Jesus with her hair (Luke 7:36-39 KJV). She weeps at the feet of Jesus, and He blesses her, and He extols her for her faith. The decision that you make when life throws a curveball, when things are unplanned, and when it feels like there’s no way out, that decision must be led by faith.
That decision must be a move of God filled with great expectation and believing that God can do anything. Believing that He is more than able to do what you need done, to address the very issue that you are weeping over, fighting over. He can take care of it. He can break through, and He can make all things new.
Closing Deovtional Prayer
My prayer for you:
Father, in the name of Jesus: thank you for the mighty woman of God. Thank you, God, for this word, that whatever she is contending with, whatever the end looks like, whatever affliction she has been battling, God, you have the victory. You are our great God, and you are mighty to save, mighty to deliver.
God, you are the miracle worker, the promise keeper; the ways are made by your great love, by your great grace, and by your power. Lord God, it is indescribable what you can do. You are good, and your mercy endures forever. So, Lord, I thank you that the mighty woman of God is covered.
I thank you, God, that the affliction is broken. I thank you, God, that you can do the miraculous. You can resuscitate, O God, dead dreams, dead visions. You can break chains that have been around for 5, 12, 18 years, God.
That you broke afflictions that seemed impossible to heal, that seemed as if it was already done. God, you did it. You called forth Lazarus out of the grave. You spoke to the 12-year-old girl and said “Talitha cumi,” being translated as “Damsel, I say unto thee, arise” (Mark 5:41 KJV). You spoke, God, to the son of the widow when you had compassion on her, for she was a widow and she had no more children (Luke 7:11-17 KJV).
You spoke to him and told him to rise, and he sat up from death, speaking. Lord, you are good. Have compassion on the mighty woman of God. Bless the work of her hands, O God, but more so, God, heal the issues of her heart. Show her, God, that you are with her.
That you are mighty to save, mighty to deliver, mighty to break through. That you hear the cries, God, in the secret place and that you know what she is contending with. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
