There is such peace to be found in the presence of the Lord. When considering the presence of the Lord as the source of our strength and our joy, creating the time to sit in His presence becomes an easy yes.

Removing distractions and trusting that in our stillness before the Lord, we’re opening the way to something new, that we’re opening the way to restoration, and we are opening the way to real joy. Not because we’re doing it in our own strength, but because we’re coming to the God who knows the way.

We’re prioritizing space before the Lord so that we may receive something new, something greater, something full of His presence, His grace, and His glory. When we read the cornerstone scriptures, we see that there are tangible benefits to being in the hand of the Lord.

We see in John 10 that Jesus is describing that He and the Father are one, and that because He and the Father are one, that all that He gave Jesus, all the people, the women, the men, the children that he’s given Jesus, are in the palm of the hands of Jesus. And in His hands, there are certain things that we receive.

When in His hands we receive eternal life. But in the hands of Jesus, we are receiving everlasting life. When in the hands of Jesus, we are also secure, then no man shall pluck us out of his hand. Eternal life, security, and the grace that comes with knowing that God is having his way.
