Audio Version Of This Devotional: He Will Keep You Audio
This morning's Cornerstone Scripture comes from one of the shortest books in the Bible. This is one chapter and these are the final two verses of that chapter of Jude. There are no more chapters. This says all that needs to be said ain 25 verses or less.
The power of God is not just inside the long drawn-out things. The power of God is in the moments where literally you feel as if it's over and it's done and God comes and shows you that he is with you. This is the moment that we find the prophet Elijah under a tree in the wilderness wanting to die and the Lord saying, no, eat. It's time for you to go. He will keep you even when you don't want to be kept. Even when it feels like it's over, it's done, like that thing is not happening. God says, “Yes, it is happening and it's happening for you. I'm moving on your behalf and it's happening for you”.
There is a growth that is coming forth with every moment you spend before the Lord. The growth of peace, the growth of joy, the growth of the sovereign God's power in your life. Increase comes when you remain in His presence. God is indeed a keeper. He does make ways out of no way you've seen him do for you before and you'll see him do for you again. In this scripture, it starts off, “Now unto him that is able”, meaning God is fully capable. He can do it to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory. God is a restorer.
He knows what he's doing with you. He knows why he's doing it. He knows the plans that he has and that he thinks towards you. These things are all lining up for his glory. Nothing missing and nothing broken. God is a keeper. Remind yourself as you're going through your day, as you're wondering whether or not things will work out the way that you expect it, as the pressure begins to mount and it feels like deadlines are looming, remember that we serve the God who sent Jesus to call Lazarus out of a grave after he was dead already four days.
God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should repent. He is the Sovereign Lord, the King of Kings. He knows the plans. He knows what he's doing. So to trust in him to keep you from falling is the way to grow in this season in your faith. Your faith is ready for an up level. Your faith is ready to shift. There's always an opportunity in every season for you to see the glory of God manifest through your life and through your faith. He is the only wise God. He is our God.
He's able to do what he said he would do. Even when we feel like things should happen a certain way or should have moved a certain way, he is faithful that things don't always happen the way that we want. They happen the way that He has designed, the way that he desires. The plans are laid out in the name of Jesus. Now life isn't fair and we feel like you've had losses in family and we feel like you've lost some of even yourself on this journey, but the Lord is faithful to restore the years.
He is faithful to restore the peace and he's faithful to restore the joy. Now unto our God who is able to do what he said he would do, my prayers for you is that you would live, that you would trust him, and that you would receive in your heart beyond the shadow of a doubt that ways are being made. There will be no room for unbelief in this new season. I thank God that he is helping your unbelief.
Now is not the time to let go.
Now is the time to move forward
and to move forward quickly.
But it's to move with Him, it's to trust in him and it's to allow his love to sit upon you as a promise, as a blanket, as a shield. The Bible says the name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run in and they are safe. We're in a running in season, running to his name, running to the strong tower and remain secure as the Lord moves everything that concerns you.
As He redistributes your life, restructures your time, and as he begins to show you how to pour out and delegate, as he begins to elevate you into your rightful position and your rightful place in Christ Jesus and your rightful place in prayer and your rightful place in promotion, remember to be still and to know that he is God. Remember that He is faithful to keep you from falling. Remember that He is the Lord our God and besides him, there is no other. He is the only wise God now and forevermore.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for this mighty woman of God. I thank you for the grace and the glory. I thank you God that every trial that is coming before her this day, God, that you've allowed to come her way, will develop and strengthen her, God, into a new creature.
Lord, you say that all things are passing away and the new things have come, that all things have become new. I thank you, Lord God, that all things have become new, that the grace and the glory is being revealed, that we're stepping into a suddenly season.
Lord God, the things that we have been concerned about and that we've been worried about, God, you have those things in your hands. So I pray in the name of Jesus that the mighty woman of God cast her cares upon you. I pray that she would just cast, that she would give, that she would trust, that she would know that you are her God and that she would love. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
