Audio Version Of This Devotional: He Is With You Audio
In this passage of scripture, we see where Mary Magdalene and the other Mary are going to Jesus's tomb for a vigil. When they get there, the ground shakes and the angel of the Lord comes, removes the stone, and tells them that Jesus is not here.
This begins an entire journey in this chapter of scripture of us coming to grips as believers walking with Jesus during that time that Jesus is no longer with us. He is indeed risen. As you flow through this scripture, the Lord begins to speak to his disciples to tell them to go after the angel; after the words of the angel. Jesus begins to speak to them. He shows himself to those who believe him.
To the disciples and to others all as the great commission is birthed in the earth. Once we get to the end of the chapter, the very last verse says to teach them all that I've shown you and that I am with you always, even until the end of the world. It is a promise of the Lord after giving those who were present, very specific instructions. This promise was that the Lord would always be with them, even if he wasn't there in the physical. That He would always be with him in the form of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Today as you're preparing to step out into the world, receive in your heart that God is with you always, even until the end of the world. Take courage that right here, right now, through every up and every down, that God is with you. Through every negative situation, through every positive situation, through every open door and every closed door, in every circumstance, God is with you. He knows the weight that you are dealing with. He knows the barriers that you're encountering.
Yet and still, our God is able. He is with you. He is mighty to save and mighty to deliver. We see that after Jesus is laid to rest, and it looks like it's over. It's the end. They then encounter that angel of the Lord in Matthew 28. They receive the divine instructions. Many behold the risen king hat is Jesus, and receive the instruction. This is a pivotal journey for every believer to step into: to receive that he was killed on the cross. He died on the cross for you and I. Yes, He was laid to rest, but one more thing happened.
He is risen and he is with us. He is a very wise God, a very present help in the times of trouble. He is the Lord. So whatever it is that you're facing, remember this: that he who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the return of Christ.
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: - Philippians 1:6 KJV
The Holy Spirit is at work within you right now, preparing for the coming of Christ and preparing for a brand new day. Yes, things are hard. Yes, things get difficult. Yes, the enemy fights you through circumstances and principalities. Yes, life may be really heavy right this moment, but your life has a purpose and God has a plan. There is an order that is being set. There are things that are being worked out in your favor, things that you don't even see yet.
This is why I love Romans 8,:28. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and on the called according to his purposes.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
We are called each and every one to go out and to make disciples of all men. In this case, those who are present here in the final verses of Matthew 28 were given something very specific from the Lord. He says in verse 18 of Matthew 28,
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. - Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
God is faithful. He is more than able, despite all resistance, despite the heaviness that you may be encountering right now, His grace is sufficient and his strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. God is doing what he said he would do. So as Jesus spoke to them in verse 18 and said, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth, he was making a decree and then he gave them a divine instruction. Go ye therefore, teach, baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
If they were wondering: And then what do we teach them, Lord?, His final words of this chapter made it clear:
Everything that I have shown you, whatsoever I have commanded you and I am with you always, even until the end of the world.
What does that look like for your life? Does it look like you showing people all that God has done for you? All that he has done and helped you to overcome? Does it look like you starting a ministry? Does it look like you sharing your testimony with others? Does it look like you interceding and praying for others?
Everything has a purpose and even now in this moment, as heavy as life may seem, as much resistance as you may be encountering, God is still with you. He is still empowering you to go forth and make disciples of men. Share with others what God has done for you. As much as you feel like maybe, just maybe, there's more room for you to grow, remember that there is someone else who has not dealt with what you dealt with.
They have not overcome what you have overcome and they have not walked through the pathways that you walked through. God is certainly with you. He is certainly faithful and He is doing all that he promised you. Remember that He is with you. Now go.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, as the mighty woman of God is leaving this devotional and preparing for her day, I'm praying for the grace of God to be released. I thank you that there is an outpouring of your spirit where she has given up and felt as if she cannot finish.
I thank you, Lord, for empowering her now in the name of Jesus. I thank you for giving her the courage to keep going. I thank you for empowering her with the Holy Spirit and the fire to rise once again. To put her hands to the plow and to try her hand at that assignment once more. I pray that her faith will be magnified, Lord. Iincrease her faith supernaturally.
Allow her to see you do something different in her life; something incredible. Lord, you are so faithful. You've already woken her up this morning, filled her lungs with your breath, filled her mind with sound thinking. You've given her the ability to hear. She is present. She is available. Lord, she is ready to start her day and Lord. We thank you for that, but Lord, I'm praying that as the mighty woman of God is investing her time in this devotional, that there would be an increase.
I'm praying for an increase in her time, an increase in revelation, an increase in peace and surely, oh God, an increase in joy. Bring back that joy of walking with you and that passion of when she first came into her faith with you and was on fire for you. Lord, I pray that you bring that fire back.
I pray, God, that things begin to move in her life. I pray that for every moment she has spent in this devotional, oh God, that more time would spring up, that everything that she has sown here in terms of her time and in terms of her faith, Lord, let there be a harvest. God, let her seed be magnified. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
