God covers and shields us in every day of our lives. As we walk with Him and trust in him, the Lord is faithful to show us which way to go. He is faithful to show us how to move. There are things that we receive when we are in His presence that we can't get anywhere else.
Divine revelation, the peace that surpasses understanding, and guidance out of certain situations. All of these things are promised throughout the Word as a part of being with God. There are indeed benefits to abiding in the presence of the living God.
Trusting in Him paves the way to new seasons. Trusting in Him paves the way to new things, opens doors, and brings a fresh wind in our everyday lives. When we trust in God, we are never alone.
The scripture Deuteronomy 31:8 states:
And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
This powerful verse of scripture is just one of the many anchors throughout scripture that show us how to trust in Him, how to not be afraid, and to walk this journey out by faith. This is spiritual. This is not natural. This is not something that a natural man would ever do.
As we walk with God and trust in Him, it may seem foolish to those who are wise in their own eyes. To those who are wise in the world, it may seem foolish to have a standard. It may seem foolish to trust in God. It may seem foolish the way that we think.
But this is why the Bible says to be not conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2 KJV). This is not the time to be conformed to the world, to be fearful and afraid. And Psalm 91 tells us to remember our God-given identity and all of the principles of walking God.
As chaos is released in the earth through governments and through societies that have fallen away from God, turned their backs on God, and do not believe that he is real.
In the midst of that, God calls us to be transformed, to not think the same, to not believe the same, to not consider or be patterned after the world's thinking.
So yes, it may seem odd, strange, weird to the natural man, the way that you walk with God. Keep walking anyway. Keep trusting anyway. Psalm 91:4 is a beautiful promise that God is going to cover us, that we can rest with him, and that His truth will be our shield and buckler. Not our own understanding, not our limited feelings, and not our emotions, which are fickle and they come and go.
But His truth shall be our shield and buckler. This is the season to stand on His truth, to live and breathe in his word. To not be discouraged by the things of this world, to be open, and to realize that he is God. To trust in the word of the Lord completely, to abide in him so that his love can cover and shield and fill us again.
Everything that you need from a spiritual sense and for the very foundation of your everyday life is in His word. It is in scripture. All of the things that are taught in the world often have a biblical root because many love the benefits of walking with God without the responsibility of recognizing him as God in their lives.
But things like “The Secret” and “The Science” and all of these books for the last 100 years that talk about magic or about the universe truly all have roots in God and knowing that He is God. But they may give it another name. We are those who name the name of Christ and as those who name the name of Christ, our walk is to be with God, to trust in God, and to not be dismayed. To not be overwhelmed and to not think like this world.
He is the sovereign God. He is the great I am. So our trust in Him is complete. Our love for Him is different. Our relationship with Him yields fruit. John chapter 10:27 -28 states:
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. - John 10:27 -28 KJV
He is indeed the sovereign God, the great I am, and there is nobody like him. You can trust in Him. You can walk with Him and the favor of God will be with you. It says in Psalms 23:6 which is a Psalm of David. In verse six of Psalm 23 it states,
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. - Psalm 23:6 KJV
This is where we start. This is how we move. We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for the mighty woman of God. Thank you God for a fresh wind over her. Thank you God that as we move into this new season that we are going to abide in you, trust in you, and we're going to receive the covering of your wings, God.
We're going to receive the covering of your truth, God, the shield and the buckler. I thank you God that the mighty woman of God will begin to walk deeply within your word that there may be fresh revelations, God, new ideas that come for her everyday life through the scripture, through the word, divine principles and precepts, God, that guide her completely for she is not alone.
Thank you, God, for the promise that you'd never leave us nor forsake us, that we can trust in you. I thank you, God, that we can cast our cares upon you and we can be in your presence knowing that you care for us and you care for all that concerns us, but our priority is to rest, is to trust, and to be inside of you. I thank you, God, and I give you glory in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
