The spirit of the Lord is with us constantly, day in and day out. The Bible tells us that the Lord is with us, that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is the omnipresent, powerful being, and the omnipotent God. He supplies all of our needs according to His riches and glory. So all that we need is in Him. All that we need is in God’s spirit.
All that we need, we already have.
It’s natural to look to the world for solutions, to look to others, to friends, to family for confirmation, and for revelation, for understanding. To know that we’re on the right path, to ensure that we’re walking in the way that is good before the Lord. That is the natural response.
That day, upon day, moment after moment, God gives us his spirit. He gives us the ability to seek Him through prayer and through fasting. God gives us his word to read, to soak in, to meditate on day and night, that we may have good success and make our way prosperous (Joshua 1:8 KJV). All of these things are by His Spirit.
It is our faith in that spirit, our faith in God being a provider and a lover of our souls, that guides our steps in all truth.
It is the Lord who prepares us for the day.
It is our God who turns situations around.
It is God who comes in season to bring a harvest, in season to turn situations around.
That is the grace and glory of God.
In the cornerstone scriptures, we see each speaks of the spirit of the Lord and the liberty and the grace and the exceeding joy that comes in His Spirit, that comes by his presence. All that we need is provided in Him.
So if we remind our hearts and remind our flesh that although the flesh is weak, the spirit is indeed willing, and the word of the Lord fortifies us for the work of the ministry, and fortifies us to go forth in our everyday lives. The word fortifies us and keeps us from falling because the living word is full of His grace and full of His Spirit.
When we begin to operate in the faith of God that is by grace and that is by word and by spirit alone, we can begin to move with power in ways that many desire but never truly step into because we’re leaning so deeply into our flesh, into looking around, looking at the things in this world, and looking for solutions in the hands of man.
But all that we need is in Christ Jesus.
The direction, the instruction, the revelation is all in His word, and it’s all in His presence, and it all comes by His Spirit. Every obstacle can be overcome by His Spirit. What may seem impossible is possible by His Spirit. The things that you’ve been praying for in your home, in your health, and your finances, with your children and your marriage, and every relationship that you have, are all possible in Christ Jesus. You are not alone.
Decide in this moment to rest in the presence of the living God. Decide that you will walk with the Lord and that you will live in His presence, that you will live in the Spirit of the living God, that you will live in liberty, for whom the sun sets free is free indeed. Be mindful of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the coming of Christ Jesus.
This work will be done by His Spirit. Open your heart and receive grace upon grace this morning for you and for your family, in Jesus’ name.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My Prayer for You:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you, God, that your mercies are new every morning. Thank you for being our provider. Thank you, God, for being Jehovah Nissi. Lord, you are our banner, our great victory.
I thank you that the mighty woman of God is rising this morning in the power of your word, your will, and your way. Thank you, O God, for Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father but by him (John 14:6 KJV). So, Lord, I thank you for Jesus. I thank you for the spirit of the living God.
I thank you that in John 19:30, I thank you, God, that He sipped the bitter vinegar and he laid down his head and gave up the ghost.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. - John 19:30 KJV
The Holy Ghost God is what we have because of Him, because he held the Spirit in his very being and released him, the Comforter, that we could do greater work than these.
Lord, I thank you, God, for the promise of God, the greater work than these, that we would do because He went back to you, because Jesus laid down his life willingly and went back to you.
I thank you, God, for the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I thank you for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and I thank you for your word, which is everlasting upon everlasting. I thank you, Lord, God, and I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
