Today’s Devotional Scripture: 20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. - Daniel 6:20-22 KJV

Audio Version Of This Devotional: Grace Under Fire Audio
When you are wrongly accused and unjustly put at a disadvantage, sometimes it takes stepping back and recognizing that God has allowed certain things for your growth and for His glory. We see Job and we see a man that loved God, but then we see that his entire family, all of his children, died at the same time, that calamity after calamity fell upon his crops and his wealth, yet and still, he did not curse God.
He did not turn on God. He decided to trust in the Lord, even when his trust and his faith started to wane. He still did not curse the Lord. In the end, in Job 42 and 10, we see that he prayed for his friends, and in the end God doubled him.
10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. - Job 42:10 KJV
42 chapters of pain, of terrorized nights and nightmares, of losses, of friends doubting you just to get to the end. Grace under fire looks different for everyone. For Job, it looked like 42 chapters of testing, followed by redemption in chapter 42. For you, it may look like certain situations looking kind of bleak and looking at a distinct disadvantage. For you to recognize that God is blessing you with the opportunity to experience grace under fire, to become someone new, to walk with him, to trust in him, to allow him to cover you, to speak life to you in some of the most disadvantaged situations.
When things get tough and it looks like it's the very end, the Lord will speak to you. He will hold you up with his mighty right arm. He will cover you. This is the season to lean into his presence and allow the grace of God to cover you in some of the most unusual circumstances. When pressure comes in, allow the Lord to show you how to walk with him, how to trust in him, and how to believe in his word. Even when it doesn't feel good, even when the pressure is mounting, even when you get to the very end, God is able to restore.
The same way we saw with Lazarus, even though it seemed as if he came too late and that he could have come sooner, the timing of God was divine. And there was a grace to see a demonstration there for the people.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. - John 11:43-44 KJV
So what may have looked like a loss was the absolute blessing that people needed to see that God could raise one from the dead, right there amongst the living. Jesus walked this out for us. He became the demonstration. Likewise, in your life, you may be called to be the demonstration. You may be called to sit under the weight and not speak, to bless your enemies who despitefully use you. You may be called to reconsider the way that you move and operate to be more open and a blessing.
Things may have to change simply because of the grace of God on your life.
The way that we see Daniel being thrown into the lion's den without harm, without cause, he did nothing wrong, yet and still he was tested. And that testing involved putting him in a very high pressure situation with no guarantee that there will be success, only the trust that the Lord would be with him wherever he went. We have that grace now, that experience, that love. We have the ability to really sense and see the glory of God and high pressure situations to know that even though things may not look good, every step you take is blessed and covered by God.
Despite the fact that it may look downright messy and that it may look like you're at a distinct disadvantage, the Lord may be positioning you for an unusual breakthrough. You must be able to rest under the pressure by grace to sit under the weight and trust him, to not attempt to take matters into your own hands, but to know that he is the Lord our God and beside him there is no other.
It takes that. It takes that pressing in.
It takes that to know that there is an oil.
It takes that for the anointing and the walk of God over your life.
It takes the testing, the trials, all the things that you've overcome.
It takes all of that to become the woman or the man you're called to be and nobody can take that from you. Nobody can take your growing moments. Nobody can take your high-pressure moments and show you that it'll be alright. It's time to trust, to walk with God, to allow him to overwhelm you with his love and care right where you are, no matter what the situation looks like. Grace under fire is about receiving God and some of the most unusual circumstances, despite accusations of wrongdoing, despite not feeling put together.
The grace of God is here for this high-pressure, high waiting, this high-intensity waiting game, waiting for when the Lord will reach out, waiting for when it's time to move. Waiting. The Lord is faithful that they that wait will mount up on wings and renew their strength if they can hold on. This is a blessing of God towards you, that he is covering you. He is guiding you. The Holy Spirit is showing you which way to go, left or to the right. The grace under pressure is what allows us to keep doing what we're called to do each and every day, season after season.
It's time. Thank you, Holy Ghost.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for the outpouring of your spirit. I thank you, God, that you are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Thank you for the blessing of the Lord, which makes you rich and adds no sorrow to it. I thank you, God, for the goodness, the grace and the glory.
I thank you for covering the mighty woman of God now, God. Cover her day from front to back as she rises, Lord God. I'm praying, God, that the atmosphere will shift as she begins to listen to this devotional and there's a breaking in the name of Jesus and that everything that is attempting to hinder her begin to break and fall down for you are the Lord, our God. And besides you, Lord, there is no other.
Thank you for breaking everything, God. Thank you, God, for severing every connection. Lord, I thank you for the blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrow. Lord, I thank you for the mighty woman of God, amen, and God, I trust you. I thank you for this woman who's listening to this devotional. I'm praying in the name of Jesus that she knows and she experiences you as a solid rock.
The rock of the ages, the one on which she can depend. I thank you, God, that as she attempts to go through situations on her own, that you remind her that she is not alone, that she is not walking with grace under fire, that, Lord, we can trust in you. We can trust in the way that you move, we can trust in your will and your way for you are good, Lord, and your mercy endures forever.
Thank you for breaking down the walls, O God. Thank you for the glory, hallelujah. Thank you for the shift, for you are an abundant God, Lord God, Lord, Lord. I thank you and I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
