The world has a way of convincing us that we are powerless, that we are stuck, and that we can’t possibly affect real change. It happens through the principalities and dark forces, through the global issues and rumors of war, and even in our own communities when faced with changes that we cannot control. The enemy has convinced the believer that we have no power and that’s not true.
The power that we have was granted to us by the King of the universe. Our God gave us the Holy Spirit. Inbued us with the Holy Spirit. Covered us with the Holy Spirit and dropped down fire on the day of Pentecost that we may carry this power in the earth. These three cornerstone scriptures for today show us how Jesus wanted us to have this power as a promise from God. You see it in Luke chapter 24:49 when it says: “And behold I send the promise of my father upon you:…”
The promise of God was the Holy Spirit to help us to walk this thing out. As we look and we see what is happening in the world, the way that we exercise our power is to remember that we have it regardless of what is happening in the community, in the country, and the world at large. God is still God, Christ is still King, and we are still filled with His Spirit. Scripture tells us in Ephesians what this is able to do in Ephesians 3:20-21, we see:
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV
So we see that the power that’s working in us is a gift of the Holy Ghost that is able to shift us to allow us to walk into greater. “Exceedingly abundantly above”. Greater this is the promise of God for greater you have filled with power right here, right now. You’re full of power when you’re looking at situations which are children that seem beyond your control. You’re full of power when it comes to navigating the world that is changing economically and wondering how your family is going to survive. You are full of power when you look at the end of a thing and wonder how you’re going to recover.
You are full of power at any given moment, at any given time, and coming into awareness with that, coming into the knowledge of God through His Holy Spirit will shift your life. We have to believe it. You have to receive it. One of the biggest tricks of the enemy is convincing us that we are only one thing: one person, one woman, or one man. In this case, as a woman of God, the power that you have is not only in your own hands.
It’s not in all that you know. It’s not in what the world is giving you in terms of skills and education. The power is the power of God at work to enrich you, to enlarge you, to transform you, and to help you break through every situation. God has empowered us with His Spirit. This is a gift of God. When we look at what happened in Acts 2, we see the outpouring of His Spiri. We see how they were of one accord in the upper room and a rushing, mighty wind came until that room, came into that place, and completely transformed it.
Completely shifted them. Their understanding of the mercies and the mysteries of God changed. They had cloven fire on them, and this cloven fire, these tongues, empowered them so that when they started preaching that day, more than 3,000 were added to the body of Christ. We see this in Acts 2:41, it says:
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.n - Acts 2:41 KJV
These were men of every language. Men from all over the world. These were people and families from different regions, different languages, and different cultures. And the gift of tongues, through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, caused those around them to understand them in their own language. Acts 2:6-7 states:
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? - Acts 2:6-7 KJV
In verse 8, it reads:
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?- Acts 2:8 KJV
So they knew inherently that this was a move of God because of the filling of the Holy Spirit. Because of the outpouring on Pentecost.
The Same Power Is In You
This is the same power that is at work within you:
to overcome every wall,
to break down every barrier,
to completely radically transform your marriage,
transform the lives of your children,
and transform the way that you do your job as unto the Lord.
All of this is inside of you. You are full of power. You are full of His Spirit, and whatever it is that you think that seems too hard or too heavy, remember it may be too hard and too heavy for you, but it’s not too hard and too heavy for God.
There is nothing too hard for the Lord. This day, tap into this power, tap into this refreshing, tap into this oil. Know that the King of Glory has already given you what you need. It’s up to you to pray. It’s up to you to fast. It’s up to you to worship. It’s up to you to operate through the weapons of our welfare, which are not carnal.
These are not natural weapons. These weapons are spiritual, and they are mighty through God for the pulling down of every stronghold. Let this be the day that you begin to receive, accept, and walk in the power that is at work within you.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you for being God alone. Thank you for the fight. Thank you for the power. Thank you for the shift. Thank you, O God, for the breaker anointing. Thank you, O God, that everything that is not like you is going to break.
Thank you, O God, for the shift. Thank you, O God, for the favor. Thank you, Lord God, that there is a peace. Thank you, O God, that there is a grace and a glory. Lord, have your way. Thank you, God. Have your way. Thank you for the peace of God. Thank you for the power that is at work here.
Lord, please just have your way, King of glory. Over all the earth, bless you. Over all that we’re doing right here and right now. I thank you for the favor of God. I thank you for the supernatural power of God. Lord, I thank you for movement. I thank you for the shift. Lord, you are the King of glory. You are the great I am. Thank you, King of glory. Thank you, God.
Thank you for the peace. Thank you, Lord, for the breakdown. Thank you, God, for the shift. I thank you, Lord. And I pray that if the mighty woman of God leaves this devotional as it comes to an end, that you will remind her, O God, that she is full of you. She’s empowered with you. She is yours, and you are hers. Lord, I pray that she be reminded of the scripture that tells us that you are divine, Lord Jesus, and we are the branches, and apart from you, O God, we can do nothing.
So, Lord God, we come into you, O God. We come into your presence this day. And I thank you for those who are here as a part of the overall daily devotional community. I thank you for those who are free subscribers and those who are paid. I thank you for the grace and glory over each and every one of them who are working, God, together and who have partnered to be able to move this ministry forward. And for those who are here now receiving this on their Sunday afternoon, God.
Have your way, King of glory. Break up the atmosphere, God. Let them see it, God. Remind them, God, that they are yours, that they can gain territory for your glory with you, with you, O God, not apart from you. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
