It is the smallest battles that prepare us to win wars. As you're walking through this day, preparing to do all that God has called you to do, remember that the small nuisances and the small battles are actually gifts from God.
Being faithful to manage the small things is a precursor to being blessed to manage the things that you're praying for. The desires of our heart, which are yes and amen, the blessings, and the things that we are to press towards in our journey with God are all bigger than where we are right now. Your dreams, your desires, and the things that you hope to see are all advancement beyond the moment you are in.
How you move in this moment determines if you'll be trusted with the bigger things. Yes, it may seem like the world is blessed. It may seem like the world has much favor. It may seem like the world is advancing when we're not seeing that in the kingdom. However, there are many that are silently blessing the nations through their wealth and they are believers in Jesus Christ. There are many who fight great battles that we have never heard of and may never meet.
It does not mean they are not great in the sight of the Lord. It does not mean they're not impactful in their communities. It simply means that they are quietly moving with God. Whether you're called to platforms or whether you're called to prosper the kingdom privately, being faithful over a little is the starting point. Being faithful over a little breaks the hands of inconsistency and it breaks the hands of procrastination. It breaks the spirit of self-sabotage.
When you begin to operate in faithfulness with the small things, the scripture here is a beautiful demonstration of how the Lord blesses you with greater things. That big dream and that big vision you have are all possible and it's possible in the first step. It's possible in how you treat the small things. It's possible by the intention you set as you place your hands on the plow and you don't look back.
The Bible says those who place their hands to the plow and look back are unfaithful and unworthy of the kingdom of God.
62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. - Luke 9:62 KJV
So when you look at the small battles in your life, assess how you handle them. Take a good long look at yourself and earnestly observe and assess how you respond to the small battles, the small nuisances, and the little things. How you respond in these small situations determines whether or not you're ready for greater battles. It determines whether or not you have the grace and the passionate patience to carry the mantle of heavier assignments and greater blessings.
Faithfully consider doing all that God has called you to do as unto the Lord not unto man. Faithfully consider putting your hand to the plow and building even if you don't see where it's going and it doesn't make sense. God has called you to be the builder. God has called you to be the creator. He's called you to put your hands to the plow and to start the process even if you don't see the outcome. Prayerfully, God blesses you to see the outcome, but the faithfulness is regardless of that outcome.
The faithfulness is regardless of whether or not it moves quickly. The faithfulness is because God said it. The faithfulness is because this is your assignment. And when you're faithful over a few things, God can make you ruler over many things. All that God desires for you to have and do and be is found in the small things. It's found in the still small voice. Your victories are found in the places that are often overlooked.
How can you put your hands to the plow and not look back?
How can you commit to the journey and be prepared for the outpouring of His Spirit?
How can every wall fall down in your life?
With faithfulness, with steadfast faith, immovable tenacity, and immovable patience. When you can stand flat-footed and trust the Lord to back you. When you know that you are not alone and you move in the things of God, goodness and mercy follow you all the days of your life. When you are following God faithfully and you're trusting in him faithfully, you're going to begin to see how the responsibilities and the privileges that therein increase.
This is not by the hand of man, this is by the grace of God. God does not promise that your road will be easy, but to the faithful, he says: “Well done thou good and faithful servant”. Faithfully today, go forth with a mind to bless God. Go forth with a heart and mind to be faithful and go forth knowing that God is making you better. He is making you a good steward over little so that you can receive and be blessed with much.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for the outpouring of your spirit. I thank you for breaking down every wall. Lord, I just give you glory that the mighty woman of God is ready to move.
I thank you that her heart is clear of all of yesterday. None of that has swayed today. Today marks the beginning of a new season for the mighty woman of God, a new chapter in the book of her life. Every weight has to break in the name of Jesus. As the mighty woman of God gets back to the mountains in which you've called her, as she gets back to the assignments which you've given her, God, I thank you, oh God, for an empowerment of the Holy Ghost.
Wind, oh wind, oh God, send your breath, oh God. Lord, I thank you right now that there is movement, that you are God alone. Let every wall come down, every bit of stagnancy, every misstep, Lord God. Lord, I thank you, Lord, for the glory of the Lord over her. I pray in the name of Jesus for the release of all the weight that we can come before you, oh God, knowing that it's your righteousness that makes us righteous.
It's you that covers us, oh God. We release all of yesterday. We release even this morning. We give you glory for a brand new moment, a brand new season, a brand new day. We thank you for shifting the environment and for opening up ways. Thank you, Lord. And I pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
