Today’s Devotional Scripture: 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. - Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
The Message For Today (October 11, 2024):
**Audio Version Of This Devotional: Don't Stop Knocking Audio
This world has a problem with those who believe. It takes issue with those who trust in God. It doesn't make it easy to operate in faith. The principalities and the high things in the earth desire for you to go without faith, without intention, and without belief.
This makes it easier to undermine the body of Christ. When you strip us of our faith, you strip us of our power. In this cornerstone scripture, we see it is the word of the Lord that everyone that asks, receives. Him that seeks, he's going to find and to everyone that knocks, it shall be opened. This is direct correlation. This is a guarantee. The word of the Lord shall not fail concerning you. The word of the Lord is not just here to be broken. The word of the Lord governs the entirety of the cosmos and everything in it.
It was God who created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day. It is He who framed the world with his words. The creative power of the Lord is here now. The word of the Lord is something that is sure and something that will not return to him void. So why is it that we don't always see the results of knocking? We don't always see the results of seeking, and we definitely don't always receive the positive results of asking. In this case, when going through these scriptures, understand that these are not passive things.
These action-based faith moves require intention. It requires that you know what you're looking for when you ask. It is required that you know what you're looking for when you seek and it's required that you know that you're knocking for a door to be opened. You're not just knocking for the sake of it. You're just not just knocking to try to live.
You're knocking because you want to see something open. Approaching your actions with the intention that you're going to see it, and then stopping after not seeing it for a while and not seeing it for a couple of weeks, maybe not seeing it for a couple of months, and maybe not even seeing it for a couple of years is the reason why we don’t see manifestation. This is not a matter of whether or not the word is true.
It's a matter of your faith.
It's a matter of your belief.
It's a matter of you walking with God completely.
A made-up mind presses towards the prize of the high calling of Christ Jesus. A made-up mind knows the Lord and does not stop because things get difficult. Make a decision today to choose to serve the Lord. Make the decision to come into divine agreement with the word of the Lord. In doing so, everything that you do with faith is now a foregone conclusion. It is not a maybe. It is not, well, we'll see what happens. It is a guarantee that the Lord will do it.
It is a guarantee that you're going to see it. Walking with God in this season requires the kind of faith that doesn't stop knocking just because it has been a while. Faith doesn't stop believing just because it's been a few years. Faith backed by action is one of the most powerful weapons for the believer to see the glory of God manifest in their lives, in their relationships, and in their legacy. What you pass on to the next generation in this season must be rooted in belief and faith.
For our God is able. He is more than able. He created everything that we see and the entire earth, from his words. It is through His words that the heavens and the waters were created. It is through his words that everything that is was created through him, through his word, and through his very being.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. - John 1:1-3 KJV
Why stop knocking knowing that that God is at work for you? The moment you commit your heart to a thing, that the Lord sends a word. He sends his word to complete the task. He empowers you with his Holy Spirit. He makes way where there is no way, even if it's been weeks, months, or years. We see it in Daniel, Chapter 10, that the moment Daniel committed his heart to understanding that the word of the Lord was sent from heaven, but that it could not get to Daniel.
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. - Daniel 10:12-13 KJV
So for 21 days, this message fought with the principalities in the land. This message went to war with the princes of the enemy. The princes being the angels and the spirits, the princes on the other side. And we see in Daniel 10, that after 21 days of fasting and committing his heart to understanding that this message carried by the angel of the Lord called in a chief prince, Michael, to come and war against the principalities so that the word could reach Daniel. So that the message revealing and opening up revelation of the future could actually reach Daniel.
Imagine at the moment you commit your heart to seeking, to finding, and to stepping into the fullness that the Lord is saying, “Yes, let's send the word to come into agreement. Let's send revelation. Let's send the answers”. Then you stop knocking before the answers come to you. Or you stop seeking before you can see the revelation. The Bible says:
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. - Galatians 6:9 KJV
He is able to do what he said he would do. He's able to turn situations around. He's able to send forth this word, not by might nor by power, but by His Spirit, he can do it. He is more than able. Don't stop halfway. Don't stop before the job is done. Don't stop before you see it. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. It's only a matter of time. It's a matter of faith. It's a matter of persistence and holding on to your crown so that no one can steal it.
Hold on to your faith that you will see the manifestation of the Lord in the land of the living. You will see healing upon your body. You will see joy restored to your life. You will see your finances come into divine alignment for you being the lender and not the borrower, the head and not the tail. You will see it as long as you keep knocking.
