The biggest trick of the enemy is delaying the inevitable. Delaying open doors, delaying breakthrough seasons, causing hindrances to arise in terms of support, in terms of open doors, in terms of faith from those who should be in your corner. The longer it takes, the more likely we are to give it away, to let go, to release it, and to just be content without desiring to grow, without desiring to break through.
Staying on the journey is more than half of the battle.
Deciding to trust God when there is nothing that is moving, yet remembering the Word of the Lord and holding fast. That is the battle to be waged in many of our transitions, our breakthroughs, our jobs, careers, families, and marriages. Just the ability to hold on when things look impossible.
The ability to stand on the Word when there’s nothing else that you can stand on. No evidence, no signs, just your heart and your mind being made up to trust in the Lord, being made up to walk with Him. He is good and His mercy endureth forever. He is with us wherever we go. The Bible says that he would never leave you nor forsake you.
We have a good, good Father who is always with us. So through the trials, through the circumstances, through the yeses, through the no’s, He is still God alone. In the cornerstone Scriptures, we see the instruction to hold fast, to hold on to the confession of your faith. To hold on in what you believed. To hold on in what you believed and what caused you to step onto the journey in the first place.
The faith that you knew that God can heal. The faith that you knew that he could hear you, that you were seen and loved. That faith. The faith that God was bringing you out of low situations and into abundant grace, into abundant seasons. The faith to let go of the old thing and walk with God into a new season.
All of these things are faith that has come alive, living faith which is full of glory, full of expectation, full of peace, and just full of an inner knowing that God is right there in the midst, even if everything around you doesn’t decree this.
Even if everything around you is limited, everything around you is saying something else. Holding fast to the confession of your faith is the difference maker. It is the one thing that allows you to move through a world that is intentionally set up through principalities, dark forces, and the weapons of the enemy to undermine your faith, to get you to stop believing in God.
Because the enemy is okay with you growing here, he’s okay with you growing there, he’s okay with some breakthrough here. As long as you don’t do it in the name of Jesus. As long as you don’t do it trusting the Lord, as long as you don’t do it lifting up the name of the Lord above all others.
As long as you don’t do that, the enemy is content to give you all of the worlds, all of the kingdoms, to give you everything. We see it when he tested Jesus and said to Jesus, if you would just bow, if you would just worship, then I will give you all of the kingdoms. Jesus responded to him by using the Word to break what he was saying (Matthew 4:8-10 KJV).
Jesus responded with scripture to counteract every promise and every temptation the enemy brought to him. During his 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness, He fought him with the Word, and you can do the same (Matthew 4:1-11 KJV).
Holding fast to the confession of your faith requires that you know what it is that you believe, that you hold on to His Word, that you know that He is God alone, that your mind is made up to believe Him, and that you’re going to speak the Word no matter what.
You’re going to speak the Word that is holy, that is righteous, that is sharper than any two-edged sword to combat everything that the environment is saying, the circumstances are saying, the finances are saying, the issues and relationships are speaking.
But God is greater. Don’t let go.
There’s a promise that He has for you. There’s promises that are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 discuss that the promises of God in Jesus are yea and amen, that we may see the glory of the living God in the earth. Knowing that the promises of God are in Jesus helps us to be able to overcome distractions and delays, to stay rooted in the solid rock, which is greater than you and I. Jesus is greater, and He’s more than able.
When reading 1st 2 Corinthians, chapter 1, verse 19 to 20 in the Amplified version, it reads:
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but has proved to be “Yes” in Him [true and faithful, the divine “Yes” affirming God’s promises]. 20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God. - 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 AMP
So we see the amplified version, which brings more of the filling to the scripture, that the missing pieces, so to speak, that it’s the divine Yes, affirming God’s promises, that all of the promises are answered yes in Christ. Those missing pieces, which add substance, also lay out the foundation of a faith that is unwavering, of a belief system that is not hindered by circumstances, that is not shaken by the things of this world, by happenstance, but is steadfast and immovable, relentless in the faith, relentless in the belief.
Relentless the way that Joshua and Caleb were relentless in Numbers 13 and Numbers 14. They believed when the 10 did not believe. They, all 12 went through a 40-day journey into the wilderness, and only Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report. And the other 10, seeing the goodness of the Lord, seeing the evidence of the fruit, decided to focus more on the circumstances than the promises.
They decided to focus more on the obstacles and the potential issues and how inadequate they felt versus understanding that it was never about their adequacy, but it was about God alone. Walking with you, walking with them through every situation, through the Red Sea, through the wilderness, through fighting the kingdoms of Og, through overcoming every single obstacle, even bringing water out of rocks.
There are miracles, signs and wonders that the Lord showed them as they walked through the wilderness. There were miracles, signs, and wonders that defied logic and that proved that they were inadequate. They were never meant to be “adequate”. They were never meant to stand on their own. They were the children of Israel.
They were the sons and daughters of God, like we here are the daughters of God. We here don’t need to have everything together. We don’t need to have everything perfect. Life does not need to look perfect or look together for us to remember the Lord our God, for us to remain faithful to the promises, for us to believe when there’s no other reason to believe.
This all comes by grace and by faith in the sovereign God, who is the Holy One, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. It is in Him. It is yes and amen in Christ Jesus. Not in our own strength, not by might nor by power, but by His Spirit. So we don’t let go.
We don’t surrender the promises of God. We don’t give up on what God has shown us. We don’t give up on the dreams, the visions, the ideas. We don’t give up on the miracles, the signs and the wonders. We don’t give up in our prayers.
We don’t let go of the vision. We don’t let go of the confession. We don’t let go of our faith. We hold fast to that crown which no man can take. We lay down every doubt, every insecurity. And we hold fast to the truth that God is with us and that He is more than able.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you, Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. I thank you for the mighty woman of God. I thank you for the grace and the glory of God. I thank you, God, for being Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You know, God, what the mighty woman of God needs.
You know what she has been challenged in. You know what principalities, dark forces, and resistance has come against her, has come against her family, has come against her finances. But God, you are more than able to break every chain loose, every shackle, and set the mighty woman of God free.
She will see the promises of God in the land of the living. She will see the promises which are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. She will see the evidence. God, I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
