Today’s Devotional Scripture: 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. - 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 KJV

So often, when looking to make a change, we seek the best possible solution. We seek answers, we seek clarity, we determine if a program is needed, if we need to go to college or join school. We look for something that will tangibly equip us to know that we have gone through process and that we are changed.

So we search and we seek these answers in the world through systems of our lives, through systems of society, systems of a certain industry, career, familial, structural, relational systems that keep us day in and day out and help keep society moving forward. However, that external seeking for change and that looking to be a part of a movement or a system, all of this is secondary. What we're looking for is not something that we're going to find in anything external.

We're not going to find it in a system, we're not going to find it in a program, we're not going to find it in a new mentor. We're not going to find it there. The seeking that we are doing is attempting to create change from the outside in. From the outside in, we're looking to influence ourselves, our identity, our walk with God from the outside.

Now, that can change the outer man, but nothing is changed for the inner man.
