Audio Version Of This Devotional: Beyond Your Steps Audio
Beyond your steps, there is a power that moves through you. It is the power of the Holy Spirit as gifted by God. It says in Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20 through 21 that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power at work within us.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21
That is our belief that the way that we speak can shift our lives and the power and life in depth is in our tongue. So what do you do when you feel like you've gone as far as you can go and you don't really know what else to do? You don't know how else to fight?
You don't know how else to overcome…
Beyond your steps, beyond your power, ability, skill set, experience, and network, God is God above it all. He has looked upon your life and deemed it a necessity. He has said that there is a purpose and a plan for you in the earth. So you are here. So beyond your physical limitations, beyond the limitations of what you know, God moves in the impossible. He moves in the unstoppable, undeniable power of God.
Moving beyond your steps today, going beyond it, hearing beyond it, and receiving beyond it is to know that God is able, that he is the only wise God. There are no other idols. There's not one that can stand against Him. So when it says in verse 9 of Isaiah 46:
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
We know in our hearts that God is telling the truth. There is no other God. No fears, no insecurities. Nothing can block God. Nothing can stop Him. So why does life stop you and I? How does life continue to have victory over believers? The hardness of it, the difficulties, the ups and the downs.
The reason why is because life is a journey for us to grow through with the Lord at the helm of our growth. So when we face difficult situations and we begin to wonder why, we're really just asking God:
Why are you making me go through this test?
We're really wondering if God is truly there for us when He gives us things that feel like they are so big. So much bigger than our capacity. So much bigger than what we're able to do. Big plans, big dreams, big moves, and big vision. All of these things require someone who believes. In Isaiah 46:4, it decrees that he is the sovereign Lord and that there is nobody like him. It decrees that. It decrees to remember the goodness of God so that we can just be focused in this hour.
Isaiah 46 is a call to being restored. It's a call to restoration. The Lord is saying to you that beyond your steps, there is more in store. Even though it may feel like the end for you, it's not the end for God. This is not over yet. God has a purpose and a plan that is so much bigger than you or I. It breaks down walls, it scatters the enemy, and there is a fresh release that comes in when we start to trust God at that level.
That level that says: “Yes, Lord” without needing to know why. It says, yes, without knowing how. You move on the goal. You take instruction from just a word from God. In this hour, beyond your steps, beyond your level of understanding, and beyond your perception, God is there. He is there in the midst saying: “Come deeper, come to me, come deeper.” There's more in store for you, come deeper.
The Holy Ghost is right there in our hearts and in our minds saying, go deeper, it's time. Beyond your steps, he is God. Beyond your capacity, he is God. Beyond our limitations, he is God. Beyond the finite lives that we have, he is God. There is no otherwise God. He's the only one. So beyond your steps, trust that the Lord maybe, just maybe, he is lifting you. Maybe it feels like, “I don't know if I want to do it again”, or you may be wondering if it's worth it to put your hat back in the ring.
The Lord is carrying you. He's lifting you up and saying: “Now it's time to tap in. It's time to move, and it's time to grow.” So Isaiah 46:4, and even to your old age, I am he. And even to hoar hairs, will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear, even I will carry, and will deliver you. The Lord is saying, you're not going anywhere, because the Lord himself is about to deliver you out of old things, out of old seasons, and old mindsets.
He's saying, beyond your steps, there is more in store. Beyond what you can see, there's an entire journey to walk. There's a journey to be lived. The Lord is saying to trust him completely in this scripture. In Isaiah 46, he's saying to trust him. He's saying to walk with him. He's saying there's more.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for covering this devotional from beginning to end. I thank you for the favor, God. I thank you for the fire. I pray in the name of Jesus, that there be an outpouring of your spirit.
Allow the grace to come forth over the mighty woman of God, so that she can see it, Lord, so that it lines up in her life. I'm praying, oh God, for walls to come down. I'm praying for great grace and great glory, for you are our God, and besides you, God, there is no other. I thank you, God, that as she leaves this room, but never your presence, that there is something that begins to shake and stir in her.
For, Lord, God, you're moving beyond her steps, beyond her limitations. You're expanding her territory. I thank you, God, for giving the woman of God room to grow in this new season, because you are mighty to deliver, mighty to save, and mighty to set free. Lord, I thank you for the deliverance. I thank you for the grace, and I thank you for the glory. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
