Today’s Devotional Scripture: 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:28-31 KJV

There is so much that happens day to day in our lives. So many things that we can’t explain, so many things that we can’t control, so many things that just show up, and we deal with them the best we can. We seek our God, we pray, and we address life’s issues one at a time.
But there are times and seasons when it can get overwhelming, when life can get pretty heavy, and you wonder how it is that you’re going to navigate through it all. How is it that it’s all going to work? Romans 8:28-31, gives us an indication of exactly how it’s going to work.
These things God already knew were going to happen. These steps you’re taking? He already knew you would take them. In verse 29 of Romans 8, He says, For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate. So God already knew you, and He already ordered your life.
Being the master chess player, being the Creator, and being the sovereign God, He already knew that you would be right where you are in this very moment. Through all of life’s issues, through all of the mistakes and missteps, He knew that you’d be here, and still, He is waiting for us to fully come into agreement with His Word and His will.
To live not from the past, not in regret, not wishing we could change things, but being fully persuaded that God is with us. We can create from here. We can speak from here. We can believe from here. For God is a very present help in times of trouble. He is there to help guide us, to walk us through, to bless us day in and day out.
God knew you’d be right where you are in this moment, and He has made a way of escape. There’s a scripture that tells us that He makes a way of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13 in the King James Version reads:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
So with the temptation, with the test, with the issues, with the trials, He also makes a way of escape that you may be able to stand with Him through it all. Through every test, through being tempted, and through being challenged by the issues of life, God is right there with you, walking you through it step by step.
He is God alone. He knows right where you are. Many times, He is simply waiting. Knocking with a still, small voice, with that prompting to be still, with that prompting to sit before Him and pray, the prompting to worship, and to know who He is, to trust in Him.
God directs our steps, and He orders them, that we would know the goodness of God. The Lord our God knows our very steps. He knows what we battle with. He knows the challenges. And God has made a way of escape.
This is the time to turn to God and say, God, how? What is the way, God? Instead of leaning on what you already know and how you already resolve issues, try leaning not on your own understanding, but acknowledging God (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).
The scripture that tells us that is very clearly showing us that there are things we know as adults, as women of God, things that we’ve gone through, and certain knowledge that we have. But when you’re facing a battle, it is best not to lean on your own understanding, but to go before the Lord in prayer, acknowledging that He is God. Seeking Him the same way that David constantly inquired of the Lord.
He constantly sought God. Even when he did things that were wrong and had to repent, he still knew how to be a man after God’s own heart. how to ask for forgiveness, how to turn around and seek the face of the Father. Right where you are, this is your opportunity to lift your heads, to bless Him, and to ask Him:
What would He have you to do today?
How would He have you to bless today?
How would He have you to grieve, to build, to love, to breathe today?
Acknowledge God in all of your ways, and He shall direct your path. That is what the scripture tells us. Now is the time to believe in your heart and to receive that all things work together. And if God be for us, who can be against us? Everything not like God will break when we continually turn to Him in prayer and walk by faith.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My prayer for you:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You. Thank You, Lord God, that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You for the faithfulness of God. Thank You, God, that the weighty glory of God is going forth here and now.
Break every wall, King of Glory. Tear down every stronghold, God. Help us to see the missing things, God. Help us to see the reality, God. I thank You for the weighted glory of God, here and now.
There is nobody like You, King of Glory. I thank You for the peace of God. I thank You that You are God. You are mighty, O God, and You are faithful.
I thank You as the mighty woman of God finishes this devotional and as she prepares to go forth in her day, O God, that You would show her, God, a new way. That You would open up new revelations for the mighty woman of God so that she knows how to walk with You fully, embracing You, loving You. I thank You, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
