It’s not always easy to see when seasons change. In the natural, it’s a date on the calendar. But, when it comes to our lives, it’s not always easy to see when the winter gives way to the spring, or when the fall gives way to the winter. To know when it all comes together, to know when it’s time to let go, to know when it’s time to move forward, to simply know is sometimes the biggest battle.
To know when it’s time to move on and trust God, and to just rise and to gather like the ants in the summer, how do you know the season of your life that you are in? That is the biggest challenge that so many of us face. We know who God is. We love the Lord. We know our church. We know the Bible. We know scripture. We love God. But when is it time to go? When is it time to move? How do we know?
In this case, the Lord acts as a guide. He goes before us to make the crooked way straight. We see it in Isaiah 43 as it says, Behold, I’m doing a new thing; can you not perceive it? It’s almost as if God knew that we would have trouble knowing when, trouble knowing exactly what time. That we would consider a thing and wonder if we’re doing the right thing, that in our desire to please him, that we would sometimes hesitate and wonder if this was the right way, if this is the right thing, and if it’s the right timing.
All of this is a part of our walk with God. It’s a part of the journey of being strengthened in God from faith to faith and from glory to glory, to walking with him through every season. The only thing we can do is trust God. The only thing we can do is test Him at his word.
To try out the word, to go forth with what we have, to go forth in the strength of what we have, to know that the Lord is with us wherever he sends us, wherever he advises us to go, whatever he advises us to build, whatever he calls us to put our hand to, he will bless us in and out of season.
And that’s all we have. We have that faith that he who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it until the coming of Christ. We have this faith and that faith alone that He is God all by Himself.
The scriptures here show us that the Lord does indeed go before us, that the word of the Lord has a purpose. He has a plan for us and an intention, and they will not return to him unfulfilled. Every word that He sends out over your life will accomplish what he pleases, what he desires, and it will prosper in the thing that he sent it to prosper in.
So we can go to scripture, we can walk with God, and we can take Him at His literal word that he desires for us to prosper, even as our souls prosper. That He desires for us to grow with him, even when we don’t really know which way we’re growing to, but we are being planted, and we are being grown up in the Lord right in the season that we’re in.
And as God is calling some of us to leave a season, to come into the new, the faith is the thing that guides us. The faith is the thing that shifts us. The faith is what opens us up and allows us to see what God is doing by faith. Simply taking a step forward and trusting that when we finish that step, He will give us another. This is an unusual journey, but the Bible tells us very clearly that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6 KJV).
So as we’re looking at our new day, as we’re looking at a new journey, as the road is opened up before us, the Lord shows us that we don’t have to be afraid. He is with us every step of the way, and we can trust in him in this brand new day. We can trust in him in this brand new season.
We can go in the joy of this journey. Isaiah 55 :12 shows us that if we go forth in this joy, that the mountains and the hills shall break forth with singing, that nature itself will decree the glory of the Lord, and that we will see the beauty in his handiwork. As we go forth and as we trust in Him. For He is mighty to save, mighty to deliver, and mighty to set free.
We have all that we need in Christ Jesus, and the word is clear. The word of the Lord will guide us, and our joy will be fulfilled. Our hearts will be fulfilled. The purpose and plans that God has for us will be fulfilled. We don’t have to worry. We don’t have to be afraid.
We can simply walk with God in full confidence that He is more than able, and that as we go forth, that the glory of the Lord will shine upon us in a brand new day. The glory of the Lord will shine, and in the light, we will know peace in the name of Jesus.
As we walk with him, as we trust in him, as we go in the ways of His will, and as we go in the ways of His word. Everything we need is right here. Everything we need is in Christ Jesus. Everything we need is in His word. May the grace and glory of God cover you.
Closing Devotional Prayer
My Prayer for You:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you. Thank you, God, for this brand new morning. I thank you, Lord God, that a new day has come. I give you glory that the mighty woman of God is ready to step fully into the truth, O God, of what you said about her, O God.
I thank you, O God, that the way is being made, that the breaking is happening, that she doesn’t have to be afraid. I thank you, God, for the grace and the glory of God. You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I thank you, God, for the outpouring. I thank you for the shift. I thank you for being God alone.
There’s nobody like you, and in the going, O God, in the following, in the trusting, God, you’re right there in the midst. So I thank you, Lord, for being a friend that sticks closer than a brother. I thank you that you’ll never leave us nor forsake us. I thank you that the mighty woman of God is covered.
That we can trust in you, that we can look up to the hills from whence cometh our help, for our help comes from you, O Lord, that we can look up to the hills and we can see it again, believe it again, breathe again in the glory of the living God, for you are more than able.
I thank you, Lord God, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
