of evening devotional included. Have a blessed night!

Opening Prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you, thank you for covering the mighty woman of God. I thank you, God, that we’ve made it through another day. I thank you, God, that this evening God be blessed in the name of Jesus. I thank you, Lord God, for traveling mercy; she made it through the day. Oh God, and we are here now. As she scrolls through Substack, as she scrolls through social media. Lord, I’m praying right now as she prepares for bed.

Maybe she’s an early sleeper. God. I just thank you, God, for wherever she is. I pray God that you will bless the mighty woman of God now. Lord, I thank you right now that every bit of pressure that she’s holding, every bit of weight on her shoulders. Oh God. All of the things, God that still must be done in preparation for a new day.

The things that she’s been thinking about, the various projects that she’s been working on. I thank you, Lord God, that they can be placed down before you, and she can release the weight. In the name of Jesus, for you are the Lord our God and there is nobody like you. I thank you for the blessing on this nightlight devotional. I thank you, God, that the mighty woman of God is at peace.

That as she begins to rest tonight, and she lays down those heavy burdens that your grace and your love would cover her. In the name of Jesus, I thank you for severing every stronghold and releasing every weight, tearing down every wall, every heavy burden, let it be released in the name of Jesus.

I thank you, God, that you tell us in Matthew 11:28-30, that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. To come before you come to you all who are weary and heavy lading and you will give us rest. So I thank you, God, for rest for our weary souls. I thank you for rest for our hearts and minds. Thank you for rest for our bodies, Lord. I thank you, and I pray in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

It is so easy to carry this weight throughout the day into your evening. To be up at 10:30 pm, looking at the ceiling, scrolling through, finding the answer. Maybe there are some really heavy things that you’re dealing with right now. And the things are overwhelming. And so it keeps you up, it keeps you from resting, and it keeps you from sleeping.

But God is so good. He is able to bring about peace. He’s able to bring about joy. He’s able to bring in a peace that surpasses all understanding. In every situation, whether it’s storming outside or whether it’s chaos inside, we can surrender to the Lord our God.

We can lay down our heavy burdens, and we can know in our hearts that He’s holding us. He’s keeping us. Release everything that’s heavy: every bit of worry, every bit of shame, and every bit of anxiety. All of the deadline dates and things that are due, give them to God wholly and fully. Just envision yourself handing it to God, putting it before his throne, and letting go.

So that your heart and mind can be at ease. So that your body can come into a place of rest. He knows what you need. He knows your financial needs. He knows that you want to start that business. He knows that you want to launch that book. He knows that you want to travel more. He knows the desires of your heart. And He can guide you into living the life of your dreams with him in reality. Because the just shall live by faith and not by sight.

We don’t live by what we see, but we live by every word that comes out of the mouth of the Father. We live by stewardship, by grace, and by glory. He is God alone. And so Lord, I thank you for the peace of God. I thank you for the love.

I thank you for being Jireh. Lord, you are good and your mercy endureth forever. Lord, you are good and your mercy endureth forever. Lord, you are good and your mercy endureth forever. Lord. Break down every wall.

I just slipped into prayer because I can just feel the presence of the living God. But the prayer is already done for this devotional. And He is mighty to save and mighty to deliver. And so I’m praying for you tonight.

I’m praying for you in the morning. I’m praying for you, mighty woman of God. Get your rest this night. Be still tonight and know that He is God. Release every weight and be refreshed in Jesus. I’ll see you in tomorrow night’s devotional.

Good evening.
This is a short, encouraging evening message. center;">Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you, thank you God, that we’ve made it through another day. I thank you, God, that we are here now, that traveling mercy and your grace have kept us. I thank you, oh God, that as the mighty woman of God settles in tonight, that the weight of the day begins to fade away.

I thank you, God, through all of the issues, through all of the things that we have faced, that we’ve made it to this very moment. Lord, I bless your holy name. I thank you, God, for you are the sovereign God, the holy one. You know, oh God, what the mighty woman of God has faced today.

You know, the overwhelming odds, the hidden things, oh God, that you’ve protected us from, you already know. So I thank you, God, I bless your holy name. I thank you right here, right now, God, that as the mighty woman of God begins to rest tonight, that her mind can clear, that there could be a divine peace that clears everything. I thank you, God, for the release. For you are God alone. Have your way King of Glory.

Lord, if the mighty woman of God sleeps tonight, cover her, God, cover her, God, in the name of Jesus, rejoice over her, God, with singing as it tells us in Zephaniah 3:17, that you rejoice over us with singing, oh God. I thank you God, that your presence, God, is with her, that she is at rest.

That her heart and mind are at rest, that all matter of distractions and delays will break, that her sleep, oh God, will be full and that it will be lovely in you, Christ Jesus, for you are mighty to save and mighty to deliver. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, oh God, but you deliver us from them all. So Lord, I thank you and I bless you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Life can get really overwhelming. The last few days have been full of Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday, family events, family dinners, and holiday antics. All of this has possibly drained us. Things that have just been testing and testing and testing. But here and now, we can lay those things down.

We can lay down every heavy burden. We can lay down the weight, and we can trust that the Lord is doing a new thing. Through all of life’s issues, through all of the weight that you may be dealing with, God is right there in the midst. Take a deep breath. Breathe in this moment and know that the sovereign God is right here with you. You are not alone.

The weight of glory is with you. The grace and glory of the Lord is going before you. Everything that has stood between you and peace has to break; everything standing between you and your next season has to move. Nothing can stand before Jehovah. Our God reigns in all of the heavens and all of the earth. He is God alone.

There is no one else. There is no other God. Nothing can stand against them. If God be for us, who can be against us? The grace and glory of the Lord is here now, bringing about peace, bringing about joy, breaking every stronghold, and releasing the kind of peace that just permeates your home, that settles your heart and mind, and that removes the weight of the day.

Regardless of what’s happening right now, the children could be screaming in the next room, or something could be going on with your finances or with your spouse. But this moment is the moment for you and God. This moment is the moment where you take hold of the confession of your faith.

This is the moment where you find peace in Christ Jesus, and the weight and glory of God covers you, covers your children, covers your home, covers your finances, covers everything. Whatever weight has been coming against you, I’m praying that it breaks so that you may experience the kind of peace that only comes in the presence of the living God.

The kind of peace that goes beyond having more than enough money in the bank. The kind of peace that goes beyond having the largest network or knowing the most people. Those things are all good, but nothing can stand against the Lord. Nothing is greater than having the peace of God, which goes beyond all understanding, for he is God in the midst of us.

Tonight, remember that the same God who sent his son for us, that same God is here now. Take refuge in the fact that Jesus, the King of glory, our hope in the earth, walked this thing out and slept in the middle of storms because he knew who our Father is, because he trusted our God. He knew that He was covered.

Relax tonight, knowing that He is God. Be at peace knowing that your rest is essential. Know that you can sleep in the middle of your storms. You can sleep in the middle of what feels like the end. God is still able, and he is providing in the midst. Have a good night, and I’ll see you in the next Night Light Devotional.

Good evening.
This is a short, encouraging evening message. Thank you for the mighty woman of God. Thank you, God, for this evening. I thank you, God, that we are here again.

The day is done, and we’re coming into a rested place and a settled place in your presence. The day has been heavy. There has been so much that has been poured out, so much that the woman has been exposed to, and so much that she has released herself, oh God. So many things to put our hands to, God, but Lord God, the day is done.

And in these quiet moments, God, we can feel so overwhelmed, alone, overthinking, pensive, anxious, and full of worry. But God, here and now, I thank you that the mighty woman of God will be at peace in your presence.

I’m praying for the grace and glory of God to go forth and for peace to be released, for the settled heart and the settled mind to be her portion. For greater is he that is within her, oh God, than he that is in the world.

I thank you for the spirit at work within the mighty woman of God to go exceedingly, abundantly above all that you can ask or think.

Tonight, God, we’re laying out the fears, the worries, the cares, the anger, the pain. We’re laying it out before you, oh God, placing it here and now. Lord, I thank you, God, that we can pour out before you, that, Lord God, you are a safe place. Lord God, you are judgment-free.

We can share the truth of who we are in you. We can share the truth of where we are in you and know, God, that you have an open-door policy, that you are the God that created the universe and everything in it, that you know the challenges we face.

Thank you, God, for being our safe space. Thank you, God, for being our strong tower. The Bible tells us, God, that the name of the Lord is a strong tower that the righteous run in and they are safe.

So, Lord, I thank you, God, that we’re running into your presence, that we’re running into your spirit, that we’re running in, oh God, and we’re saying yes in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Silence Society & Seek His Truth

Tonight, put down the noise. Tonight, put everything else down. Shut down the noise. Silence society. Silence every expectation of you. Silence what people think of you. Silence all the cares of this world. Silence it.

Silence the expectations, the weight, the oppressive ideals about who you are and what you should be. Let’s put those things down in the name of Jesus, and let’s rest before the Lord tonight, knowing that he is El Shaddai.

Who you are, the truth of it, the core of you, was known from before you were in your mother’s womb, and before you knew your name, the Lord knew you. There’s a purpose for you. There’s a plan for you.

So, as you look at the expectations of society, the pressures, and all that they believe you should do, the right thing to do, the goodly thing to do; let’s put that down and sit before the Lord and rest in his presence, pouring out the pain, the frustration, the feeling of not knowing which way to go.

Release it now. Release it. Pour out before the Lord. Just pour it out. Release everything. This is the first step to seeing the truth of where you are.

Remember that those who live by faith and not by sight, these are the ones who are blessed. We do not live by sight, we live by faith. And it says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, in the King James Version:

for we walk by faith, not by sight. - 2 Corinthians 5:7

In reading verses 6 through 8 in that same chapter, 2 Corinthians 5, verse 6 through 8, it says:

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. - 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 KJV

The weight of this world and society’s expectations on how you need to operate in it is irrelevant. The shame that people make you feel for who you are is irrelevant.

The shame that you have felt simply because of the way that people set limitations on you can be released right now. We’re releasing every lie of the enemy. We’re releasing every expectation of man. We’re releasing it.

And now in this place, see the truth of who God is by faith and not by sight. We do not live in this world. We are not of this world.

The Bible tells us to not be conformed to this world, but rather, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. So whether that’s Pharisaical mindsets in the church or whether that is idol worship in the world, there is another way. There is no left or right, there is another way.

Tonight, rest before the Lord and see the truth of who he has called you. See the truth of what God has for you and your walk with God.

So often the noise of society and the noise of this world can pressure us into life decisions and consequences that we were never intended to carry. But God is still faithful, and he is more than able to guide our very steps, to show us the way that He wants us to go, for his ways are higher. His ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV).

So, as we come before the King of glory, bearing all, releasing all, and silencing the noise of society, go to His word and see His truth for you. See His truth for how you decide going forward to move, because it’s in God that we live, that we breathe, that we have our very being.

It’s in Him that we find the truth that we are. It states in Acts 17:28, in the King James Version:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. - Acts 17:28 KJV

You are a daughter of God, and as a daughter of God, man cannot constrain the reality of who God called you. Man cannot place you in a box and say that “this is God’s highest calling for you”.

Whatever God’s highest calling is for you, God will show you, because we know His voice. As the Bible tells us, … my sheep know my voice… and a stranger they will not follow (John 10:4-5, John 10:27 KJV).

Release the noise of society and the expectations of man, and tonight, take hold of who you’re called to be in Christ Jesus. Take hold of the truth of your life. Over the circumstance. Over the noise. Higher than every bit of weight and sadness and feeling of regret and loss.

God is still God, and right here, right now. He can take your life. He can take the weight of it and transform it. He can empower you to carry it according to his will and his way. He can give you a new way to live, to breathe, to be in this season.

Now’s the time to step into joy, to be restored in the joy of the Lord, to know who you are in Christ Jesus, to break the hand of the enemy, to live life, and to live it more abundantly (John 10:10 KJV).

To lift up the King of glory over every circumstance, over all of the weight, over all of the responsibilities, knowing who God called you, creating something new, knowing that the Holy Spirit is right now listening to your heart and at work within you.

To go exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power. That’s what it tells us in Ephesians 3:20-21.

Ephesians 3:20-21 gives us the liberty. It gives us the freedom. It gives us the promise that we have all that we need in this hour to be set free, to see the truth of God’s word.

In Ephesians 3:20-21, it states:

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV

Closing Devotional Prayer

My prayer for you.

Father, cover the mighty woman of God as she considers the desires of her heart tonight, as she lays them out before you. Lord.

I pray that she leaves this day knowing that you care about her, God, that you have heard her cry. That you indeed hear the desires of her heart, oh God, and that here and now, suddenly, you are making a way, oh God, for the mighty woman of God to rise into all you’ve called her to be. To be free and to walk in her destiny.

I thank you, Lord, and I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Good evening.
This is a short, encouraging evening message.
Our Comprehensive Daily Devotionals for Paid Subscribers are sent every morning at 6:00 am It is in those moments that we can turn to God. The heaviness is a reflection of the work that we put in today. The work we poured into our families. The work poured into our babies. The work poured into our jobs. The work poured into our ministries.

The grace in your life is physically poured out when you are walking with God and doing the work of ministry. Whether guiding little children, doing your job as unto the lord, investing in your education, or keeping your home in order, there is a spiritual grace poured out. With all of the viral videos about the undervalued and invisible mental labor of women on social media, it’s easy to feel like your pain is common.

Common phrases like “Everyone deals with that”, “Everyone has issues,” and “That’s just life” intentionally undermine and invalidate the heaviness you feel. One person you will never hear that from is someone who loves you and someone who is led by God. Unfortunately, we don’t all have that kind of support network. We don’t all have the kind of supportive friends, family, or husbands who understand the weight and can help us carry it.

But God Knows

He knows how heavy life can get. He knows that the weight can be heavy enough to shake you and break through that “acceptable” Christian countenance. That forced smile. That customary “I’m fine”. God knows, and he explicitly speaks to this for us:

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30 KJV

The perfect time to go before God and release every way is right now. God’s door is always open. He already knows what you’re dealing with. He simply desires for you to open the door and sup with Him. Sit. Be still and stay for awhile.

Through all of the emotional turmoil and the feeling alone, God is there. Through all of the weight and expectations of this world, God is there. You are not alone. It’s okay to release the pain, the heaviness, and the weight of life before the Lord. He desires to know our hearts, and we ultimately desire the same. Yes, the results of knowing God and being intimate in His presence are more joy, more peace, more love, and more breakthroughs in our lives. The problem occurs when we desire the results more than we desire the commitment.

We are in a world that desires the answer without having to endure the test.

We see it with quick weight loss plans and microwave meals. We see the quickness in the speed and the desire to get there faster, and we miss what life truly means. We miss the challenges. We try our best to avoid the pain. We pray for deliverance from trials and testing, all the while missing the point that the trials and tribulations are a part of our growth. They are part of how God cultivates our faith.

Closing the door is about you recognizing that God is right there with you. He’s waiting for you to stop pursuing the things of this world and to go before Him, knowing that He is God alone.

Yes, there’s a time for working.

Yes, there is a time for getting out and meeting new people.

There’s a time for growing in the Lord and in your walk with God.

There’s a time for fellowship in the house of the Lord.

There is a time for education.

There is a time for all of these things. But here and now, it is time for us to know God. All of these things are good and needed but they can not God knowing us.

How can you know God when the world is so loud? How can you know God when you are listening to 15 different voices on social media telling you 18 different ways to do a thing?

But God.

God wants you to close the door. He wants time with you. Accomplishing so much in this world and missing out on the premise of love and a relationship with God places you in the position to face what many face when they come before the Lord at the end of their life, when the Lord says, Depart from me, for I never knew you.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. - Matthew 7:21-23 KJV

This is your invitation to stop performing. Close the door and spend time with God tonight. Close the door and worship. Turn on your favorite worship song and just sing to God tonight. Know that He is with you and you are with Him. He knows the pain that you are dealing with. He knows the desires of your heart.

But does He know you? My prayer for you:

Father, cover the mighty woman of God.

Cover her. Heal her, God, of every affliction. Let her know, God, that you are with her. He has made promises. There are promises in his word. There are promises all throughout scripture. But there are also promises that He has made for you. There are things that He has shown you, visions that He has given you, dreams that He has placed in your heart.

These things are of the Lord. These things are meant to inspire hope, not to demoralize you and not to make you feel like you’re not doing enough, but to remind you that there is more than this moment. There is more than this season. God has more for you. If you are alive and breathing, there is more that He has in store for you.

But it’s easy to forget that when we look at the issues of life, the weight of the day, the pressures and the responsibilities, it’s easy to allow the promises to go by the wayside, to be placed on the back burner, and to be put on the proverbial shelf. We have seen in scripture where the Lord has turned around situations with mighty Women of God who cried out, and the Lord answered. They sought solutions and the Lord provided.

Many who were on the last possible step. They were at the end of themselves. They had done all that they could do.

The woman at the well.

The woman with the two sons in 2 Kings 4.

The woman who was making the last piece of cake that she had. She had sticks, and she was going to wrap them together, and she was going to make bread for her and her son, and then they were going to die (1 Kings 17:8-16 KJV).

The Lord has given us example after example of how He keeps his promises even when it looks like the end. He is faithful. Yes, life can get overwhelming, but He is faithful. Yes, the principalities and the dark forces are at work, but God is faithful. Our job is to hold fast to the confession of our faith, for he is faithful who promised.

That’s what it tells us in Hebrews 10:23: that the Lord is faithful, that he is able, and that we can hold fast to the promises, hold fast to the promise maker, the promise keeper. There’s not one thing He’s ever said that he has not done. There is not one story in scripture where the Lord has failed, and just because they wrote revelations doesn’t mean he stopped being God.

Yes, the book may be the book, but every day, with your life, He is writing a new story, a story of victory. We’re shown in scripture that God has called us to be walking epistles to be read of men (2 Corinthians 3:2-4 KJV). So yes, God is still being God. God is still writing out the stories. He’s writing out the scenes. He’s turning the tables, but we can’t remain in the ashes.

We can’t remain stagnant. We can’t remain in old seasons and pray and hope that things change without truly believing. Without truly operating by faith. This is why the scripture tells us to hold fast. Hold fast to the promises. The scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit will bring back to our remembrance all of these things that the Lord spoke while he walked the earth (John 14:26 KJV).

This is the promise of God that you are not alone. That’s the first promise (that I am sharing tonight, not the first promise God made): that he would never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV).

This is the promise of God that when you draw nigh to him that he will draw nigh to you (James 4:8 KJV).

This is the promise of God that if you hold fast to that crown that when the time comes when all of the earth will be tested that the Lord will remember you (Revelations 3:8-11 KJV).

So remember His promises. Remember the Lord. Remember what He has shown you and hold fast. Don’t stop believing. Don’t stop receiving. Don’t stop speaking life over yourself. Now is the season to go in, to tarry, to believe ever the more that God is faithful and that He is more than able.

Closing Devotional Prayer

Father, I thank you for the mighty woman of God. I thank you for this idea to do the nightlight devotional. Lighter, shorter, but God, I pray that it still carries your spirit. I pray that the mighty woman of God knows that you care for her, that you are here for her, God.

I thank you, Lord God, that as we close out this short devotional, I pray, God, that the mighty woman of God will remember that if there have been things that she forgot, that she would get her pen and paper out, God, and start writing out what you showed her. Start writing out the truth of the word. Start writing, God. Start flowing.

Start remembering in the name of Jesus that you are the Lord of the overflow. You are the God of our breakthrough. Lord, I thank you for being El Shaddai. Lord, you are more than able. I thank you, Lord, and I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The instant download of over 400 printable powerhouse affirmations for Christian women is still available. Thank you for covering this mighty Woman of God. Thank you for covering her, God, and for this new moment, this new day. I thank you, Lord God, that you’re going to have your way. There is nothing, there is no one like you, God.

You know, God, what you have planned for her. As we close out this day, coming into the evening with you, I pray, oh God, that the mighty Woman of God would fellowship with you, that she would rest in you, that every weight can come down, and that the peace of God can surround her right now.

I thank you, oh God, that you don’t make mistakes. You’re intentional, Lord. You know what you have planned for her. I thank you that everything is not like you is breaking, and every distraction is coming down. And in these twilight hours, that there is a reminder, oh God, of the ease, the glory, the grace, and the peace that comes in your presence alone.

You are the King of glory. You are our great God, and there is nobody like you. So I thank you for this moment. I thank you for this day. Lord, have your way. In Jesus’ mighty name.

When wars come and when chaos erupts, remember that the Lord is still here, that He has you covered. Everything that you’re facing and every trial. takes second place, third place, behind the time you spend in His presence, the time that you rest in the glory. Remember that God has the final say. The winds and the waves obey God, and everything belongs to him.

You are not alone. You are not overwhelmed. Let fear break in the name of Jesus. As you go forth in this evening, journaling, reading, writing, resting, and considering a thing, remember to meditate on his word. The Bible tells us to meditate night and day for a reason. Now more than ever, we need the power of God.

We need the weighted glory in all that we’re called to do. We need to just trust God, and we have the open doors already there. We simply must receive it. Receive it, believe it, and embrace the rest. Embrace the peace. Embrace the love of God. I pray that today be the beginning of a new space of ease, that despite what is coming, despite the news headlines, despite the chaos in communities, let fear not overtake your heart.

Let God have his perfect work, that patience will come forth, that faith will rise, and that greater than the fear, the Lord has given us love, peace, power, and a sound mind. For the Bible decrees that the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I thank you for the soundness of mind.

I thank God for the soundness of mind over you. There is nothing greater than God in your life. There is nothing impossible for him to turn in your life. Open your heart and embrace the peace. Embrace the grace of the Lord. Embrace this moment here and now.

May the Lord bless you in Jesus name.

This evening, as we approach the end of another month in the new year, remember that you are not alone. You are not on your own. We have a God who is faithful and more than able.

A lot of times, when life gets overwhelming, it’s easy to get caught up in all the weight and the cares of this world, but God has something more in store for us. So tonight, as you rest, tonight, as you step into the fullness, as you step into wholeness, as you step into the reality of who God is, being still and knowing that He is God is an intentional decision to shut everything down, close off the noise, step out of the busy traffic, and simply see God.

Simply hear God. Simply receive Him as part of your being, that you are not alone. The God that we serve is the God who sees us. In scripture, we see a story of a woman who has been cast out. Due to no fault of her own, she has been cast out with her son, and she is in the middle of nowhere, crying out to God for something different.

So in Genesis 16:13, in the King James Version, it states:

And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? - Genesis 16:13 KJV

This scripture of Sarai. He finds her at a specific place in the wilderness and proceeds to pronounce a blessing on her seed as the Lord pronounced a blessing on Abraham and his seed:

7 And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

9 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

10 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

11 And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction.

12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

So the blessing that is on Ishmael is there because his mother cried out, and God heard her affliction. No matter where you are, no matter how hard it is, and no matter how long it has been in terms of the affliction and the pressure, the Lord sees you. He is El Roi: “the God who sees me”.

This is what Hagai called Him. She knew in that moment that she was seen and she was loved. Her seed was indeed multiplied according to the word the Lord gave her directly. This is a promise of God outside of the covenant of Abraham.

May her encounter with God be a reminder that He knows where you are, and He has a blessing for you, but you must be still. There comes a time when the running must end, the frustration must end, and attempting to figure it out in your own strength must end. The grace and glory of God can find you right where you are and show you how deeply you are loved.

Download 31 Printable Scripture and Power Notes that can be printed, cut out, and placed on mirrors, walls, and at your desk at work. like we can’t go further.

The first response is usually to press past it and, you know, soldier on and get it done.

The second response is to completely shut down from overwhelm and just to decide to let it all go into another day.

And the third response, after soldiering on or deciding to lay it all down. The third response is essentially deciding to turn around, to not go forth, and not even try again.

And all of these, they may feel like the right decision in the moment, but truthfully, when exhaustion strikes, and it feels like you just can’t go on, turning to the God who can give you fresh solutions, fresh strategy, and a way out is required. Lately, there has been so much overwhelm and fatigue with personal issues, family storms, and societal issues that it seems like there is no rest.

It seems like there is no way to just be still and receive. There’s no way to simply break free and sit with God. Because of this, it seems like a never-ending train of headline news, anxiety, fear, anger, rage. These emotions are being pushed by what’s happening in a societal frame, in the political frame, and even in some of our churches. There’s so much that is happening. Turning the world off is a necessity.

Yes, it may feel like you’re giving up, and yes, it may feel like you wish you could do more. None of that matters if you press your way into heart issues, high blood pressure, frustration, exhaustion, tiredness, and this overall feeling as if you’re alone, as if God doesn’t hear you, and as if you’re figuring things out on your own.

There is a strength that comes in the pause. There’s a peace that comes in the pause. Psalm 46:10 in the King James Version tells us the power of being still. Psalm 46:10 in the King James Version states:

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. - Psalm 46:10 KJV

To be exalted, to be lifted, to be revered above the circumstances and above the noise. That’s what the Lord is saying here: that beyond everything, He is God and the world will know that He’s God. The world will know that He is supreme.

Right now, the world is going through birthing pains. Society is going through birthing pains in a reset. There is so much that’s happening, even in relationships. It seems as if the enemy will be successful in destroying families, in destroying legacies, and isolating us one from another, but there is something greater.

It is the power of reclaiming the kitchen table. The power that comes in reclaiming the backyard. The power that comes in reclaiming the family outing. Reclamation of our God-given identity in this season is a necessity. Empowering on and soldiering through won’t help. Becoming overwhelmed and shutting things down, that won’t help either.

Deciding to go back and maybe to just settle inside of whatever season God is delivering you from, that will not work either. This season requires a press that goes beyond the moment. It goes beyond the strength that you have. This is truly a demonstration of the scripture that tells us that when we are weak, this is when God is strong.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, it gives us a stark review of what God desires from us when things become too much, when you’re tired, and you just want to give up. And it reads:

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV

This is what God wants to show us this evening, that when you feel like you can’t go on, you are exhausted, you are tired, you’ve come to the end of yourself, that maybe that’s exactly where God wants you to be. Just resting and trusting in him, letting go, and letting God have complete authority, complete control, and remembering that when you’re weak, God shows himself strong.

So, instead of feeling like you just have to push through or like you’re just not doing enough or like it’s too much, just know that it might be just enough for God to get through to us. It may be just enough for the Lord to capture your attention and to have you to lean in to Him.

The pressure and the resistance and the exhaustion may be just enough to stop us from this headlong, up and down, control-centered life of to-do lists and check marks, and it may be just enough to bring us into the place of being still, of surrendering it all to God and walking with him from a place of complete ease and complete peace that defies logic.

It defies all understanding. That is the power of the season that YOU may be in. When you are tired and you don’t know how much longer you can go, celebrate. Give God the glory that maybe this may be. He wants you to turn to Him and seek a new way. Maybe this is your permission slip to let go, not abandon it, but turn it over to the King who always had control.

You were always in the palm of His hand. Nothing can separate you from the Lord. Not one thing in the earth can separate you from the love of our Father. Jesus says this in Romans 8:38-39 in the King James Version, and this states:

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 KJV

Nothing can separate you. Nothing can take you out of His hand. Nothing can take you away from the Lord. Nothing can take you away from His Spirit, and nothing can take Him away from you. So turn to God. Know that the weakness is actually a reason to celebrate, to glory in your infirmities, because that’s where God shows himself mighty.

This is when God steps in. You’ve come to the end of yourself. It’s tiring, it’s exhausting, and it feels like you should just give up. There’s another way, a better way. The scripture tells us that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV).

Now is the time to walk that out, to believe that he is God, and to know that he is able to do what he said he would do. May the Lord bless you and keep you in all of your ways. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If this blessed you, you can give a one-time gift

of any amount with the button below.

GIVE A ONE-TIME GIFT
